We will disagree respectfully. Gen. Honore is talking from experience. From a point of a disaster where relief supplies could have been brought in sooner on land. He had resources available.

I donated money, that is all I can do, you don't know people's circumstances.
I think he's being a veteran gives him the right to bitch about the way government is running things, but that's just me.

Let me give you a quick example. A 20 foot shipping container loaded weighs about 21 tons. A 40' container loaded weighs about 27 tons. The biggest helicopter the military has can lift 14.5 tons give or take. An LCAC landing craft can carry between
50 and 70 short tons. Those are set up for wheeled cargo, not containers. Ships carry hundreds of thousands of tons of cargo.

One more point, they have supplies waiting to be distributed, what they need are drivers, bodies to clear roads, the Navy can bring those bodies.

I see a clear case of people being inexperienced in their positions and not knowing how to respond to this catastrophe.

You are a presumptuous ass if you think you know what anybody has done or contributed to the PR relief effort. That happens a lot with conservatives.

Look. The all of you. I respect everyone's opinion. Not everyone can help obviously. Sending money, food, thoughts, prayers etc is more than most could ask for. It shows your humanity and that is all anyone reasonable can ask.
I am tired. Dead tired for days now. I am crabby. And for some reason this thread just set me off. I am not going to apologize for what I said, however I probably could have approached it differently.

He has experience in disaster relief and knows the logistics. I respect Sailors knowledge but he doesn't know what Honore' knows about coordinating relief efforts.

I know what Sailor himself said he has done and is doing in Puerto Rico. That means "by his own account".

I have seen no claims of your great deeds in the service of Puerto Rico, and wouldn't believe them without proof if I had, because you have amply earned my distrust, Christiecrite.
