???....no you don't......I just pointed out that you assessed his speech based on the false statement about a Nazi march.....you don't give a fuck what the words used are, you just use words that are convenient......

The speech he gave Saturday was meaningless and gutless. It failed to take seriously what had happened, and refused to denounce the Nazis and alt-righters.
 
In addition to skinheads there were people that do not believe statues should be taken down. The same opinion if Richmond mayor who happens to be young and black.
There were people not associated with antifa who do want the statues gone.
Are these bad people?
Of course not. Just people who disagree.
And there were people intent upon violence and brought it.
And as the governor was intent on seeing this happen to further his political career and squash the rally before it began, violence was permitted and a young woman and two cops dead.
Contrast that to Richmonds mayor who declared his monuments were going nowhere and can now say no to any rally on grounds that there is no threat.
Best mayor Richmond has ever had.

I'll give you a for example. There's a statue of Stonewall Jackson in Charleston---not to far from me. If it happens that some white supremacists [or Antifa] decides to protest or march there, I'm taking my smart phone with me and I'm going to be there in support of the monument. Regardless of who initiated it.

If it happens that way I'll play JPP reporter and try and get some video up lol.

But here's the point: I would hardly be alone. I venture to say most of the people there would fall outside of the hardcore bigots/thugs that are looking to bust heads or whatever.

The same was true in Charlottesville.

Lord knows my dumb ass didn't go to an Ivy League school but I don't think one needs to go to Harvard to know marching alongside Nazi's and KKK members probably isn't the best way to win support for your position.

And it now has had the unintended effect of having other monuments torn down and other cities looking to remove them.

But there is no equivocation that Nazism and white supremacy are evil. That's not being P.C. that's just fact. And I say this being a straight white Republican capitalist male, not some guilty white liberal.

Trump laid his own bed here. He should have called it evil on day one.
 
Trump's reluctance to denounce racism is such a blatantly obvious thing.

Again, this one was a softball. It's not credible at all that Trump "wanted all of the facts" before issuing any major response. He never cares about that. His 1st "many sides" reaction was absurd, and we saw who it was intended for by the reaction he got from racist leaders.

He was then forced by his staff to go through a perfunctory reading of what he should have said, which he clearly did not like saying because he basically backtracked on it the next day, and with great annoyance.

As I've said - I don't think Trump himself is a racist. But I think he knows that racists and xenophobes make up a passionate part of his core base of support - in many ways, they are the most loyal sub-group in his eyes.
