“You have people who are very fine people on both sides,”

One side was Neo-nazis/KKK, the other side was BLM/Antifa terrorists.

This is where the media meltdown escapes me.

Clearly, both sides in Charlottesville were largely comprised of thugs endulging in thuggish behavior.

It's not debatable.

Trump's first statement was that there was 'hate coming from many sides'. Anyone who watched the clips would have to accept that as fact.

You probably think anyone who thinks the monuments should be left alone is a racist, so there's that.

I don't object to these idiot monuments because of racism. I object because this is America, and those monuments pay tribute to foreign enemy soldiers.

They can't/won't accept that there's not a great deal of distinction between them.

The Klan is the epitome. But when BLM activists are assassinating cops, Antifa thugs are beating up Trump supporters and such, the other side are catching up quickly.

They are counterparts, two sides of the same coin.

Trump's point [and I criticize him for even trying to make it since it will be purposefully misconstrued and he should know better by now] is that not everyone on the 'pro-monument' side was a Nazi.

That's all he was saying.

That's what you heard. Trump didn't say that. His statements were unclear so people fill in their own meaning. On CNN they're saying he equated the neo nazis with the antifa and protestors. Everyone hears something different when this idiot speaks. That's why I think he's unfit to hold office.

I can hardly believe you wrote the above. Nazis carried out ethnic cleansing to "purify the Aryan race" and neo-Nazis support that philosophy. That is orders of magnitude more hideous than Antifa.

He said there were good people marching. What good people march with the KKK and a bunch of Nazi's chanting anti-Jewish slogans?

Answer: They don't.

It is debatable. It's a lie if you think both sides are the same.

one subscribes to hate the other opposes it.

Lies told to justify the hate and racism coming from racist white me on the right.

No, they're not. Anyone who supports Nazis supports ethnic cleansing.

Well, tbere you have it folks. The Trump-loving Republican party base is throwing it's lot in with Neo-nazis, klansmen, and white supremacists. Defending them with every fiber of their being.

And you know what? We have been saying since the Netscape board days that the GOP base was infested with bigots, klansmen, racists, and their various and sundry sympathizers -- and to howls of protestation from rightwing message board posters.

It is always good when we achieve moral clarity on who really stands for what, instead of equivocating and dodging what people really stand for.

Standing Ovation!
