“You have people who are very fine people on both sides,”

Ok, let's say some white supremacists decide to march in support of a monument. Some other monument supporters show up who disavow the supremacists, yet feel strongly enough about the monuments to show up even though they hate Supremacists just as much as anyone else.

Not everyone in Charlottesville who supported the monument was a Nazi. Not everyone who was there in support of removing it was an Antifa thug.

It's a fact. And that's all Trump meant. Quit falling for fake news. You're smarter than that.

Nothing personal man but that's straight out of Obama's playbook. When you see video of KKK and Nazi's marching with tiki torches chanting blood and soil and death to Jews it's pretty hard to recognize the "good people" there.

People got understandably pissed about the Dallas BLM shootings when Obama said the people marching were right to be upset with how they'd been treated by the cops, right after someone killed five cops.

Nothing different here. People on the right are generally pretty good at calling out good and evil. The people in this march were evil. Period.

Do you know what fascism is? I am wondering.

would it have anything to do with showing up at licensed demonstrations with helmets and shields and weapons and attacking the demonstrators........or burning down school buildings because a speech is scheduled........or making death threats against a secretary of education because she visits a charter school?.....

Which would mean that everyone counter protesting was a dimwit from some left wing group, notice though he didn't mention that fact

actually he did......he said there were some intent on violence on both sides......that would leave room for counter demonstrators who WEREN'T fucking idiots......

Many people on this board had relatives fight and probably die fighting Nazi's. I don't understand the accepting of them (or the other groups with them) or trying to justify them.

I couldn't imagine saying "hey grandpa, thanks for what you did in WWII but I need to get their back right now"

so you're saying Grandpa didn't believe in the first amendment?.......there's a difference between "getting their back" and saying they had a right to demonstrate without being confronted by a violent, unlicensed counter demonstration.......

Nice try. This has nothing to do with the first admendment. But hey if supporting Nazi's and KKK members are your thing...

Tell that to the guys waving swastikas.

there were guys carrying Mexican flags at antiTrump rallies.....does that mean it was a Mexican rally......was Mexico interfering in our election like the Russians?......

So let me get this straight. Every Black person that speaks out against, or is angry when kops murder unarmed Black people, are part of BLM, which is a terrorist group equal to white supremacy groups?

See why you are called a racist? You believe this nonsense.

you see how this works.......you've said that every one who supports Trump is a white racist pedophile........it works both ways.......

You're conflating the videos with depicted the evil doers with *everyone* who was there.

There were people in Charlottesville, representing both sides of the debate, who weren't Antifa thugs or Nazis. That's all he was saying. I criticized Trump for trying to make a point, which by now surely, he had to know would be misconstrued by his enemies in the media and elsewhere.

But what he said is by no means untrue.

I'll give you a for example. There's a statue of Stonewall Jackson in Charleston---not to far from me. If it happens that some white supremacists [or Antifa] decides to protest or march there, I'm taking my smart phone with me and I'm going to be there in support of the monument. Regardless of who initiated it.

If it happens that way I'll play JPP reporter and try and get some video up lol.

But here's the point: I would hardly be alone. I venture to say most of the people there would fall outside of the hardcore bigots/thugs that are looking to bust heads or whatever.

The same was true in Charlottesville.
