What do you mean that was the easy part? It wasn't repealed or even really replaced. The individual mandate was removed but in its place they put a large penalty on a person's premium if they don't have insurance over a certain amount of time. That's not really getting rid of the mandate it's just changing how the penalty is enforced isn't it? They didn't change the competing across state lines part since he says that in the next round, and they still have the tax credits which is just another form of entitlement/subsidies. What's changed? If by easy you mean just keeping obamacare and changing the paint color then absolutely.
I missed the part where they explain how premiums will go down? The Republicans released their plan to amend Obamacare, I've been reviewing it.
Its not as good as Obamacare Classic, but not terrible. Its clearly a lot better than what we had pre-Obamacare.
Its got the expected tax giveaways to the Rich and all but the bones of Obamacare are still intact. Lets see what gets passed.
Why is it so hard for you to understand that you can't just take away healthcare access from millions of people, solely for a political win? If memory serves, you're still on your parents' insurance? I guess that has something to do with it.I also think that if you consider yourself a conservative or even a republican then you can't really support Obamacare lite. You either believe that the federal government should be involved in healthcare or you don't. Just because Trump creates it does not make it ok in my opinion. The Republican Party has control of all branches of government and voted to repeal Obamacare when Obama was still president. There's really no excuse for that same repeal vote to not be embraced now that it can actually pass. The problem is that there are people in congress that call themselves small government constitutional conservatives in public but behind closed doors are anything but.
Why don't they just offer a public option to anyone who wants to purchase Medicare coverage?I'm hoping more people join with Rand Paul and others, but yes I am sure there will be many republicans in congress that will embrace it just because it came from Trump despite their principles.

Why don't they just admit that for at least the first 5 years or so, healthcare is going to be expensive until we become a healthier society? Govt. funding is a necessity no matter what your plan is. The removal of govt. guarantees by House Republicans brought us to this point. Just admit you killed it on purpose, re fund it, and put your name on it.Once people get a gov't program in place, especially one of this size, it is almost impossible to remove it. People may say repeal Obamacare but if they lose coverage how many will say 'that's cool'?
The Republicans never should have been so far out of power that this monstrosity was able to pass. Republicans in Congress know they can't repeal this thing yet they keep saying it to voters creating unreasonable expectations.
There's absolutely no credible evidence to back this claim. Until they admit that House Republicans caused more than a dozen insurance companies to go under, they can't begin to discuss how to repair a law that they broke.People recognize the damage it has done, especially to our economy. But when gov't gives you things it's hard to take them away. Democrats know this and play to it.
They don't, unless you're in favor of child exploitation.I personally think looking at porn is morally wrong but if you want to look at it you can. I don't believe it's the governments job to take on that issue.
Those she supports do. As far as 'Constitutional', it's time for people to join the 21st century. She's doesn't want a political win she wants what she feels is constitutional and follows her principles.

Wasn't meant as one, I assure you.I take that more as a compliment
This is actually worse than Obamacare. It puts a stamp of approval on some of the worst aspects of Obamacare
1) taking money from others to pay for someone elses healthcare
2) the pre-existing conditions clause. It is a bullshit clause and leads to adverse selection
3) the whole notion of keeping kids on a parents insurance until 26. What a sad commentary on our society that 26 year olds can't be considered out on their own. Pathetic
Anything short of complete repeal will be an abdication of the GOP mandate
Wasn't meant as one, I assure you.

Which roughly translates as, I am alright Jack you can just go rot for all I care. I am sure that in the fullness of time you will marry another fascist and raise a whole brood of mini fascists.Oh, well then I won't say thank you. My main point of view centers on individual freedom and a dependence on self, not government. It's how I was raised and it's what I firmly believe in.
The access would improve in my opinion if insurance companies could compete across state lines. My resistance to universal healthcare isn't about politics its about following the rules, so following the constitution. If a new amendment were passed authorizing the federal government to provide such a thing, as intended by the founders, then i'd be more accepting of the idea.
This is the Trump mandate.
