Affordable Care Act

are you seriously retarded? I wasn't advocating for those things in my post you braindead idiot. I was saying those things are the result of a government run health system.

Uh-huh...whatever.

CYA!

:rofl2:

Tell everyone again how stage 4 colon cancer won't have you shitting yourself in fear, like it does with EVERYONE it touches.

FALSE, before the ACA I was uninsurable due to my high cholesterol. I had been rejected by every single insurer in the local market. I went two years without insurance until Obamacare brought in what was called the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Program that filled the gap until the ACA could take affect.
Your problem was solved before the ACA went into effect...
So why did we need the ACA....

BULLSHIT

You were not "uninsurable" because of high cholesterol. You would have had to pay a higher premium because your high cholesterol puts you at higher risk for a heart attack meaning you are a RISKIER customer. What part of that don't you get?

You went two years without insurance because YOU CHOSE to. You could have paid, but you CHOSE not to.

Why do you fucking lie?

Let me ask you this. Do you think someone who has a DUI, and three accidents in five years should pay the same premium as you who has a perfect driving record?

I was uninsurable at any cost. I assure you I tried hard to get insurance. I've been through this before on this very bored. I even once posted the denial letter and the acceptance letter from the pre-existing conditions insurance company. Believe me if you want don't believe me if it better fits your narrative, the facts are the facts

So you didn't have insurance prior to sucking on government teat? Then you wanted to get it after the fact, even though you claim to be a wealthy attorney? Why didn't you have insurance?

But I digress, a pool for high risk people already covered will require at the very least a transfer into a Medicare pool. It is definitely doable.

Obamacare as it was passed is probably the worst, most poorly considered law in U.S. history second only to Prohibition.

What we need to do is remove the obstructive, unconstitutional aspects of Obamacare, keep the better ideas and move towards a well considered, bipartisan plan.
Obamacare has failed miserable - unless you are a state / federal / major union employee who is EXEMPT from the law, or one of the scumbags who have their medical care subsidized.
The people in the middle - the people who work and are taking up the slack for the entitled class who are exempt from Obamacare, and paying far more than they should to cover the scumbags, illegals and stinking refugees are just plain fucked.

I pay close to $1300 a month, I have a large family.

An illegal immigrant or refugee with a bigger family pays Zip, nada, NOTHING.

Now you know why I quit voting democratic party line in 2012 and went for Trump in 2016 even though I don't care all that much for him.

Prove it.

Who is Eligible for the Marketplace?

Most people in the following groups are eligible for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace:

  • U.S. citizens
  • U.S. nationals
  • Lawfully present immigrants
Who isn’t Eligible for the Marketplace?

The following groups aren’t eligible to use the marketplace, get cost assistance, or use Medicaid or CHIP:

  • Undocumented immigrants
  • Those who are currently incarcerated.

Michelle Obama advocated a VOLUNTARY program of eating right and ignorant Righties with ODS screamed SOCIALISM and called her every vile name in the book.

Now suddenly it's a great idea!!

Trumpkin hypocrisy knows no bounds

Oh yeah! The moaning, the anger, the pictures of cafeteria trays, the whining of kids on social media, the vilifying of Mrs. Obama...

The orange julius would benefit from eating Michelle Obama's diet.

Yes, I'm the one who actually looked at the letter because all the chickenshits like IHA were worried you were going to send them a virus.

Or better yet, go after the companies who are profiting off of selling the unhealthy shit to begin with, by placing a health impact surcharge on all foods that surpass healthy levels of ingredients like sugar and sodium, etc.

Tobacco products and alcohol, too.

Use the money to directly subsidize health care for the poor.

We don't need sin taxes on food stuffs nor panels to determine healthy food brands and alcohol tobacco are already prohibition tax rates.

What we need is medicare for all.
Medicare is not just for the poor as has been incorrectly mentioned.
Medicare has a 6% overhead compared with 30% for private companies.

I haven't been to the ER in a decade and back then I had insurance under my parents. I am not a feeble cripple like the rest of you. And for the record, I don't fear death. If I get sick then oh well. I know it must blow your mind there are actually principled people int he world, but I will NEVER be a taker. To me it's the lowest of the low. It's like selling yourself into slavery.

Oh the laughable irony. Poor deluded child.

But, why do the insured pay for the uninsured. Spell it out for me. I know why, I am trying to see if you really understand. I am also trying to educate you.

It doesn't sound as if you do. Either that, or you continue to demonstrate that you're an asshole

A simple search shows that the costs are passed on to the taxpayer, the hospitals, and the insured. FromABC news:

"The average U.S. family and their employers paid an extra $1,017 in health care premiums last year to compensate for the uninsured, according to a study to be released Thursday by an advocacy group for health care consumers."
