Education and degrees?

Hell yes I have. Most skilled tradesmen I know are just as well educated and sometimes more so, than a person with a BA/BS degree.

So how are these "skilled tradesmen" more educated that someone who went to college?

But the question is, can someone have a College degree and not be educated?

I have met many, many, many educated utter morons, the kind of idiot that surprise you when they show up clothed. Truly an astounding number.

I have also met incredibly insightful and intelligent self-educated individuals. Would they be considered "well-educated" as the OP meant it?

That wasn't the question; can one have a degree and not be educated? Yes or no? It's a moron claim but forum dimwit Jarod thinks they are mutually exclusive.

one gets "educated" merely by going through the educational process of earning a degree. The point I think that Jarod was trying to make was that people can get degrees and still not be very WELL educated. TD seems to be the poster boy for this sort of experience.

Education can come from experience rather than school.

That wasn't the question shit-for-brains. You claimed that a degree and education were mutually exclusive.

You're so damned dumb you can't remember your own dimwitted premise. Proof that one cannot argue with an idiot who only wants to wallow in the never ending circle of stupidity.

I picked Auburn specifically because I know it is your alma mater but yes there are athletes all over the country that hold degrees who did nothing to earn them.

Most credible Universities require at least a "B" to graduate and stay on the team. Do you have something more credible than humor and "because you say so" to support that claim?

I believe that depends on the school and the type of legacy. If your parent donated lots of money or is someone very powerful at some schools that will guarantee you a degree. You don't think the system can be and is manipulated by people seeking degrees?

Bullshit; back it up dunce.

I went to school with Charles Schwab's son who flunked out. If a guy whose father has money and power like that can flunk out...

I'm sure there's an example of a kid who was a legacy who never went to class and basically bought a diploma. But examples like that are negligible in numbers.

They do not exist. You cannot buy a degree from any credible University...period.

So, your school at the time did not allow legacy to skate, does that mean no schools do that?

I know its also possible to pass and still fail to have been educated.

You think Football Players at big football schools are the only ones who get that treatment?

Another dunce claim; that one can get a degree and not be educated.

Damn your stupid.

Athletes need a 2.0 to be eligible is my understanding and that's a C average. If you follow college football, especially in the South, there are numerous examples of athletes who have tutors write their papers for them etc. you even have professors who will give passing grades to non deserving athletes because they are fans.
