Conclusion; when I say you're a dimwit, it's because you actually are a dimwit. It can't be an insult if it accurately describes the persons rhetoric.

Another example; your selective outrage is dimwitted. Why; because you ignore everyone else's insulting nonsense and selectively choose someone who constantly embarrasses you by pointing out your glaring ignorance.

I suggest you stop while you are behind lest you remove all doubt what a dim bulb, hyper partisan fool you really are.

in response to a suggestion that his posts are insults masquerading as debate, truth deflector sees fit to reply with a post cluttered with "dimwit", "dimwit", "dimwitted", "dullard", "stupid", "vulgar", "dimwit", "dim bulb", and "ignorant". Not all that creative... a tad repetitive... but certainly way more heat than light.

I rest my case.
 
After reading this thread, I believe there's one small point that everyone is missing.

To many are trying to equate education with knowledge.
If you take a course, pass it, and are able to recite what you've learned; does not mean you are educated.
It just means that you have the knowledge of what the class taught you.


EDUCATION
Education in its general sense is a form of learning in which the knowledge, skills, and habits of a group of people are transferred from one generation to the next through teaching, training, or research.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge is a familiarity with someone or something, which can include facts, information, descriptions, or skills acquired through experience or education.

The difference between the two is what the discussion should really be about; imho.

But this part is wrong:

If you take a course, pass it, and are able to recite what you've learned; does not mean you are educated.

...you have been educated, you still may be ignorant or lack "knowledge." But you cannot get a four year degree and not have been educated based on all definitions of the word.

In dunce's mind, education and a degree are mutually exclusive.

Wrong again dunce; you were trying to conflate the two insinuating that a degree and education are mutually exclusive. No one else is confused by the difference between intelligence and education and NO one made that claim.

It had its roots in another thread where I said that I expected someone who had a current events / political television show to be better educated than Megyan Kelly, to which TD said that she had a J.D.

Between the early to late 70's I was working for a company that had a sub-contract with Hewlett Packard.
We made part of a guidance system for the Navy's missile system(s) - my internal confidentiality security compliance has been over, for a long time.
I made micro cables for the systems (gold plated connectors combined with copper cable(s)) and the cables could have no kinks or wrinkles in them, as it changed the frequencies of the cable.


When we had a new design; I would get drawings from the Engineers, which showed what was supposed to be connected to what.
The cables had to be made in such a way, that one could be replaced without disconnecting any of the others and the spaces were very tight and sometimes the cables threaded through each other.
The Engineers would make these very pretty drawings that showed all the bend radiuses and how they thought everything should be.
After using their plans and discovering that what they wanted wouldn't work, I would go them and explain what needed to be changed.
EVERY single time, they would try to stand firm and use the reasoning that since it worked on paper it should work in reality.
After much "discussion" I would be able to convince the supervisor of their department to allow me to make a prototype and then let the Engineers to draw off of my designs.

Now; the Engineers were very educated; but they just weren't very intelligent.
