Fucking Pig Feds, This story has me absolutely disgusted.

and anyone who believes that those founders would have allowed the new central government to impose that kind of power upon the people, after having just experienced a tyrannical central government, has an even more twisted perception of those men.

Impose that kind of power, huh? I'm trying to picture the colonists, when informed the new federal government had devised a way to treat illness and prolong life but treatment was optional, shouted in unison, "Leave us alone. We want to suffer and die."

Question. Did you notice if the author of your history school books was Stephen King?

(Excerpt)“The Institute of Medicine, using older studies, estimated that one American dies every 30 minutes from lack of health insurance,” remarked David Himmelstein, study co-author, associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, and a primary care physician at Cambridge Health Alliance. “Even this grim figure is an underestimate — now one dies every 12 minutes.” (End) http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/sto...s-annually-linked-to-lack-of-health-coverage/

The unnecessary death of a citizen every 12 minutes and there are still some *nutters who claim the Federal Government does not have the obligation nor authority to do something about it.

*Nutters. I have to give acknowledgement to one of the lady posters for coming up with that tag. A most apt description in this case.

Odd how "ESTIMATIONS" can be figured, when one has an agenda. :palm:

let me introduce you to a concept created by the supreme court.....the government, or it's agencies, have no legal obligation or duty to provide protection or services to any particular individual.

Warren v. District of Columbia - "fundamental principle of American law that a government and its agents are under no general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any individual citizen."

DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services - Constitutional duties of care and protection only exist as to certain individuals, such as incarcerated prisoners, involuntarily committed mental patients and others restrained against their will and therefore unable to protect themselves. "The affirmative duty to protect arises not from the State's knowledge of the individual's predicament or from its expressions of intent to help him, but from the limitation which it has imposed on his freedom to act on his own behalf.

I assure you nobody will force you to have a free annual check-up and if you want to suffer and die prematurely I promise you no one will interfere. Are you more at peace now?

curiously, you left out the part where they had to surrender 20% of their crops, two dozen chickens, and 6 cows every year in order to treat illness and prolong life.

why would I be at peace when your obamacare is increasing my own premiums, increasing my out of pocket costs, and threatens a penalty if I don't do what they say I have to?

interesting. signing legislation that lets business' drop coverage for their employees because the fines are cheaper, taxes everyone to provide coverage for those that don't want or need it, and increases the costs of healthcare in general is fixing the problem?

Removing health care from the strings of employment is a definite plus. It's one less concern for the employee. It's like building superintendents who get an apartment as part of their remuneration. Tell the boss to shove it and they lose their apartment as well as their job.

Time for an anecdote. Many years ago I moved to a new city and needed a job and an apartment so I took a job as super for a garden apartment complex. Eleven buildings, eleven acres of land. The gardens had a Japanese theme to them. New owners took over and they decided to get rid of me giving me 30 days to move out of the apartment. I told them I didn't think so. :) When I took the job I didn't take the designated Superintendent apartment plus I was paid a salary out of which I paid rent for my apartment. Although I wouldn't have paid tax on the money I used for rent had the apartment been included in the deal I was originally offered I would have had to leave if things went sour, which they did. However, I was aware of that when I took the job and I didn't want that hanging over my head. The same principal applies to medical coverage.

As for people not needing or wanting health care coverage are they psychics? Fortune tellers?

Regarding increased premiums keep in mind ObamaCare is the first step. It's like a bride walking down the isle and thinking about all the money that has recently been spent. That will all pale into the background once she's married and working together with her husband towards their first home, planning a family, etc. Think of now as walking down that isle and Obama is there waiting for you. :)

Since when was not paying your property taxes, a offense that you could be incarcerated for?

It is if you take up arms to protest the auctioning off of your home. I guess I should just ignore the silliness of all this arms talk/revolution nonsense as babbling by wanna-be Generals. Not that being a General doesn't have it's perks according to the latest news. ;)

so higher medical costs is the desired objective and you think this is a wonderful thing. you've lost it.

Your reading comprehension definitely needs attention. ObamaCare is going to morph into a proper government health plan. It's going to take a while but that's the road it's on. By '16 there will be no more talk about cancelling ObamaCare. Anyone who suggests it will be immediately dismissed. So, the greedy, selfish Repubs wil have a choice. Either they can participate in improving ObamaCare or they can be shut out like they were when it was first implemented.

You really have to educate yourself about government medical. Costs are a lot lower, the people who have it insist on maintaining it, not one country has reverted to a "pay or suffer" system.....

The debate is over. The decision has been made and you know the old saying, "To get along, you go along." :)

are you telling us that we the people have no recourse in retaining our property? that if the courts decree it, it must be so?

so you're refusing to answer a legitimate question...I can only assume that your intent is to purposefully strongarm, read that as threaten with death, people in to surrendering their property to pay for everyones healthcare. tell us again, why we shouldn't be able to kill all of you?
