What did Jordan Neely do?

What did Jordan Neely do to deserve being put in a chokehold?

It sure seems to me there was likely an easier and less deadly way to restrain him than a chokehold.

I think the guy who killed him overreacted, but I could be convinced otherwise cause I don’t see much evidence of what actually happened.

At first blush, it looks like manslaughter to me?

With the violence in today’s society you never know what someone might do. Neely was threatening people with harm so multiple people took him down to protect everyone else.

They didn’t know if he had a knife or a gun and they didn’t have time to sit there and analyze it.

Action had to be taken instantly and they did it.

None of them woke up that day and planned on killing anyone, they just wanted to go about their business but Neely forced them to make a choice

Do you have a citation for “threatening people with harm?”

Forced? Really? Wow.

Well we know people like you will never act to help anyone but regular people are often forced into situations they don’t want to be in but they do the right thing to help others

That’s a choice nobody was forced. You were lying.

Witnesses told police Neely had been begging for food and acting erratically on an F-line train before Penny intervened. According to witnesses, Neely was screaming about being hungry and tired but didn't attack anyone.

I hope it’s all on video, that will make it easy to decide. The right wing has made up a story about him, making threats.

I once had a mentally unstable guy come into my office acting weird. Took off his shirt, pulled his pants down halfway down his butt , and brandished what looked just like a gun that turned out to be a cigarette lighter.
Those types can be scary as hell. My heart was racing like mad. If I had a gun I may have instinctively shot him.
Yeah I had a similar experience in my office. I always kept a gun in my desk I didn't pull it but I sure thought about doing it.

Cool! Let's compare our made up experiences and see who wins!

I always take a pistol to the apartment complex I call "The Prison" (43rd Ave and Thomas just SW of the intersection behind the pre-school in Phoenix if you want to look it up). That one is always hopping off. The FBI's there, the Marshall's service is there, ambulances, firetrucks, the police, the sheriff's department, you-name-it. Last time I was there, they were taking 3 dead bodies out of one unit where they'd OD'd. I cursed the bad luck it wasn't the one I had to install a new doorbell on...

Okay you win.

Something similar happened to me one time also, but when I asked the guy what he wanted, he just wanted to use the phone, when I let him use the phone, he left quietly. I know of two local cases where attorneys were killed by their clients. Both divorce situations, and wealthy murderers.
