I agree with "part of the problem" ... but there's always been access to guns and that has not been an issue in the past... so what really needs to be "cured' are the other parts of the problem...

I would bring back mental health hospitals and spend more money on mental health counseling in schools. I would provide support for struggling families. I would expand red flag laws.

I taught for 30 years in schools where there were often shootings in the neighborhood ...we never had any problem in our schools at all...though we did confiscate the occasional weapon...

Not a question of what to ban, what ammo should be outlawed, it is all about access to guns, how easy it is for nearly anyone in America to obtain a gun, even those on the terrorist watch list can get one legally. And you are going to tell us that ain’t a problem

Ban on semi automatic weapons, which was passed by a GOP led Congress, expired in 2004, and the gun manufacturers started to promote them immediately after cashing in after 9/11. Mass production flowed thereafter, especially when Obama got elected in 2008

Access to guns was not as easy as it is today, especially given mere number of guns out there, more guns in circulation than there are Americans

My friends would often bring a new rifle or shotgun to the school parking lot to show their friends.

No shots were ever fired. No school children were ever harmed by a gun.

Mentally disturbed adults and children are allowed to walk the streets and kill at will.

The left has always been against institutionalizing those with mental issues.
