WOOF! CA Woman Illegally Registers Dog, Casts Mail-In Ballots — Now Faces Felonies

A 62-year-old California woman was charged Friday with five felonies for illegally registering her dog to vote and casting ballots in her dog’s name in the 2021 state gubernatorial recall election and the 2022 primary election, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s office.

California’s elections were significantly changed in 2021 after Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed Assembly Bill 37, making universal mail-in voting permanent and requiring counties to automatically mail ballots to all active, registered voters. According to a press release from the Orange County’s DA office, 62-year-old Laura Lee Yourex of Costa Mesa has been charged with one felony count of perjury, one felony count of procuring or offering a false or forged document to be filed, two felony counts of casting a ballot when not entitled to vote, and one felony count of registering a non-existent person to vote.

In October 2024, the DA’s office was contacted by the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ Office after a resident allegedly self-reported that she registered her dog to vote. The resident claimed that she cast a mail-in ballot addressed to her dog, Maya, for the 2021 gubernatorial recall election and the 2022 primary election.

“The dog’s vote was successfully counted in the 2021 gubernatorial recall election but was rejected in the 2022 primary,” the press release states...

....According to the press release, Yourex allegedly posted on her social media a picture of her dog in January 2022 “wearing an ‘I voted’ sticker and posing with her ballot.” An additional photo was allegedly posted on Yourex’s social media in October 2024, showing her dog’s tag and a vote-by-mail ballot with the caption, “maya is still getting her ballot,” despite the dog having previously passed away.

Tell me again how mass mail voting is secure. Mailing voting will not stop illegal aliens from voting.

If voter-fraud were so small as to not matter, why do the Democrats work so damn hard to enable and protect fraud-voting?

The answer is, it is not small, in blue-states, it is huge, and usually determines the elections.

If vote-fraud didn't exist, there would be no blue-states.

A blue-state is a place with massive vote-fraud.

If Trump reduces overall vote-fraud by even 30%, the Democrats will never win another national election.

A majority of Americans hate the Democrats and the Left.

So if they covered their tracks well how would we know. :dunno: I'll give you an example of how they could sway the election in swing states where relatively few votes are needed. After an election worker separates a mail in vote from the envelope there are ZERO ways to identify who cast the vote. So one or two election workers that wanted to cheat could sway the election in their state and as soon as the envelope from the ballot and there is no way to detect the fraud.

Ballpark: how many people do you think would need to be involved to rig a national election like that?

Trump's lies have, I fear, permanently changed the GOP, and the electorate.

I doubt that Democrats will be able to win another election without MAGA screaming that they cheated.

I'm saying there is inadequate election security . If a dog can vote so can anyone else. What is next voting iguanas?
Sure but what you are saying is stupid.

You can never prevent a person trying to do something illegal. There is no law you could pass to stop a person trying to vote for their dog.

What you can do is put in measures to 'catch and punish' that person which they have and worked.

But go ahead and try and explain what you could put in place that could stop a person from even trying to represent their dog or a fake made up person for voting before they even try to register to vote? How do you prevent that person from even attempting it?
