It’s not an either or, everyone has racist attitudes or ideas in their head, woke is simply trying to be aware of it and working to change.

Great point. Using reparations as an example. The argument has been made that to be woke means to support reparations and to not support reparations is to be anti-black. We've all seen the polls that show a majority of Americans do not support reparations, and that includes people who would otherwise call themselves woke. There's a whole laundry list of items we could go down where people define the woke position differently.

'Don't be racist' sounds simple in theory but based on how one defines the term racist there's actually nothing simple about it.

What your witnessing is the 'hijacking' of the definition of the term woke and the pushback in society against it. It's why you have people who call themselves woke pushing back against wokeness. It's why a black liberal like John McWhorter can write a best selling book called Woke Racism (the racism of people who proclaim themselves woke), because the pendulum as gone so far to the other side.

If you think fighting racism by using racism is woke then I don't know what to tell you.

Colleges have sided with students who opposed a (black) speaker who was going to speak against reparations because it is "insensitive" to minorities.

That one CA group wants to give all blacks $5 million and then give low income black families $98,000 per year for 250 years. Not sure how they are low income if they get $5 million.

Somebody is going to call us racist for these posts.

The conventional dictionary definition is past tense of wake. The dictionary currently includes a "slang" definition for "woke" in the political context used as a cudgel by Right wingers against leftists, an imprecise mockery that works because of its very imprecision. When you ask Righties to explain what it means you inevitably get evasions like yours and others in this thread.
