Why the liberal arts are important

You can tell Cypress has a liberal arts degree. Too fucking stupid to get anything else. Democrat of course.

They think that by watching two minutes of YouTube videos they are an expert on anything, and can tell the real experts how to do their jobs.

The sad thing is, rightwingers repeat what their leaders say--who all have advanced college degrees.
GOP leaders in Congress are well represented by Ivy League graduates. None which have STEM degrees.

The Republican leadership sees STEM as something for peasants.

I used to know Rush Holt, who was fusion physicist in Congress. Obviously, he was a Democrat. I am trying to think of the last time I talked to him. It was after he retired from Congress, but before the pandemic. I guess he is one of the people I lost contact with during the pandemic.

Side note, I just looked it up and Holt went to NYU(not Ivy League), but he did research/worked at Princeton(Ivy League).

"Shut up and calculate." The idea that the sciences should not think about political power or any meaningful description of the world.
Another version of, "Get back to work!"

There was a time when I actually liked her.
I sent her photos of my little excursion to Barrow , Alaska a couple of summers ago. She was complimentary of my wife. ( My wife is quite attractive but damn hard headed!)

She even gave me a ‘like’ for that post (along with you BTW). But typical of the far left, disagree with them on one issue and they fuck up the relationship. It’s been bad since.

Clinton did go to law school with it. His liberal arts degree gave him the knowledge he needed to get into law school.
Everything is pre-law.
I once dated a girl who got into Tulane law school with a 2.4 GPA with a Home Economics degree from LSU.
Boy that LSU home economics degree must be rigorous.

I also know a guy that got in with a chemical engineering degree. He made a fortune doing environmental law stuff .

You can go into law from almost any major, but you generally need a bachelors degree in something. Clinton did well enough undergraduate to get into Yale Law School.

Meanwhile, trump was rejected from every law school he applied to.:truestory:
