I don't profess to know who promised what, or who offered what... all I know is, the administration is doing one helluva tap dance, avoiding direct questions about this, and there is probably a legitimate reason they are doing so. I'd say it appears they know there may have been some impropriety of some kind, and they are attempting to avoid implication. Otherwise, why not honestly answer whatever questions arise and not worry about it? I mean, if nothing was done illegally, why worry?

The perception they have something to hide here, is what is going to cause this to not go away. Whether an actual law was broken, and whether it 'rises to the level' of high crimes and misdemeanors, that's way on down the road and remains to be seen. But the bottom will be gotten to on this, you can rest assured of that.
