He was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after police said he "exhibited loud and tumultuous behavior."

Which seems to ignore this:

He didn't refuse to show the cops his ID. In fact he showed them two. His Howard Univeristy ID and his Drivers License.

What would be nice would be to have a video/audio of this encounter. How did the police approach this. Did they knock on the door and courtesly ask him questions or did they storn up with weapns drawn yelling "Up aganist the wall Mofo"?

My guess is the man questioned the cops motives and they over reacted.

I don't doubt that racism is alive and well and racial profiling does occur and may have occurred here.

This is silly. Had I broken into my own home and somebody called the cops my first reaction would not be "OMGZers! We just don't get a fair shake here in the US!" when the cops showed up.

I would have a question as to why they were at my house, but I certainly wouldn't immediately react the way this guy did.

Crap, this very scenario happened to me as a teen. I broke in because I forgot my key, the cops showed up and asked me for ID. I simply laughed and told them what happened and handed them my ID. I was glad my neighbor cared enough to call.
