which repub moron told me racism was dead

MOROM

it wasn't made illegal solely due to race as you claimed, the paper guys, namely hearst wanted it illegal....read your fucking history, i'm done talkign to a MOROM who won't bother to read the facts about the how and why it became illegal

show me some newspapers that said ban pot so Hearst can make more money. I don't dissagree that's why, I dissagree that they used that to sell prohibition to the public. Asswhipe

dude, you're a fucking moron....i've repeatedly said they used race because they knew their reason wouldn't work...hence why they LATER used racism...the initial reason was NOT RACE, your cliam it is false

you're fucking stupid on this issue because race has clouded your thinking to the point of outright stupidity....you can't even read my posts properly

your a ged fucktard
you never said they used business first and later racism.
They used racism as the sole justification in the press, sure their real reason was money. We agree that it's racism that was the public justification for prohibition then we should be able to agree that it's racist not to change the law.

yes he did for 4 hours
BS, if he was even put in a holding cell is in doubt. He was arrested and an arraignment date was set and then he was released. It takes about 4 hours sure, but there is no time to put him in the county jail in 4 hours. Not even close. Plus there is nothing in your story about 4 hours or even a holding cell.

the release today said 4hrs
so he was held against his will at the station for four hours.
The police made the right decision before they totally fucked themselves.

Which, again, is not jail. It takes about that amount of time to set an arraignment period, in fact that is very quick.

wow, I'm still getting used to the micro-fiber splitting of minutia around here while dodging the main point.

The main point?

If he hadn't reacted immediately defensively and like a turd throughout he wouldn't have even gotten close to an arrest. That is the main point.

Your first point is false. He was indeed not arrested for "breaking into" any house, let alone his own.

He was not taken to "jail" as you oft-repeated in this thread. He wasn't treated any differently than I would have been. In fact with more deference. Had I refused to come out and show an ID they probably would have come in and got me, putting me face down and held me for much longer as they "investigated" whether I really lived there.

when police take you in, most people would call that next step going to jail.
I'm out of this useless thread, you win you racist.

LOL. You're out of this thread because none of your points have actually bore any resemblance of logic or fact.

My BIL, a Denver cop, tells me that the vast majority of arrests are because people just won't shut up, they talk themselves into an arrest. This is exactly the type of thing he spoke of, if the dude had just treated the cops like people doing their job this whole thing never would have hit the news.

i've repeatedly said business was the reason...knowing that would never fly, they then used racism to convince people it was bad....you said it was made illegal because of racism, that is simply not true, racism was merely a tool, not the reason

and now, the reason is not racism at all but power....there is simply no reason for its continued illegality, especially in light of the repeal of prohibition...it is solely about power now, not race

OK, first I apologize for the stupid insults

We are now on the same page
reason=money
tool= sold to public as reason=racism
so your saying you agree it was sold to the public as racism and it's all about political power now. Which I mostly agree with.
But it's my hobby now to remind people that prohibition was sold under the vail of racism and as such it's racist to leave prohibition.
Especially since hundreds of thousand of minorities go to jail for possession.

cool

hundreds of thousands of non minorities go to jail for possession...simply because many minorities also get busted doesn't mean it is racially implemented...

it is good that you tell people about how they used racism, but to not tell them the real reason belittles your point....if you throw in the money issue as the reason, it shows just how egregious making marijuana illegal really is and how inherently fucked up it was to use racism as the means to convince people the herb is evil...when i tell people that the reason was money and power and that it was paper magnates, they flip a brick....people honestly believe the government did it because it is a harmful drug

IMO, racism is an old tool to fear monger people with, it is more powerful coupled with the reality of the true reason, money and power

Yes, I understand that type of situation could have occurred. However, you can also point to times when situations get out of hand when an individual doesn't comply with police officers requests or becomes belligerent for no reason.

At this point, it is a he said/he said situation with the cops telling one story and the professor another. I simply believe that based on this story, to call it racial profiling is a bit ridiculous. Could it be the cops went in all hard ass, sure, but did they do so based on race or because they thought there was a break in? I don't see anything that points to this being racial profiling.
NOt by the police. Maybe by the neighbors.
