Weiner: Yeah, it was my wiener!

A survey done in 13 States in two that totaled a little over one thousand women. Nothing wrong with that. I just point out the FACT in a population of over 300 million (over 150 million being women), that this particular survey cannot claim it's an adequate representation of women across America. That's just a plain, fact based observation. Nothing wrong with that.

Did you find out that the firm that conducted that survey conducted this one, too?

Disapproval of the Republicans in the House of Representatives has surged from 46 percent in February to 55 percent in April to a striking 59 percent now. Disapproval outnumbers approval two-to-one; intense disapproval by three-to-one.

IMHO, the ONLY way this would be of note is if a politician is caught legislating one way while personally living a lifestyle that's the opposite of the law...OR if caught using public funds to support their philandering....OR if their cheating is compromising the integrity of their vote.

Other than that, it's between husband and wife.

Weiner's fault was not only denying and lying, but falsely blaming others for smearing him.

If you want to ignore the fact that he broke his vows, which is basically the same as breaking a sworn oath, how do you get passed the lying to us?

If an elected official lies to us, why would we keep them?

Again, you keep equating a personal, private marriage oath with public oath of office. Again, to date, there is NOTHING in oath of office for public service that requires fidellity in a marriage as a requirement for service.

Mind you, people are more than welcome to say, "I'm not voting for a cheater", but for a country that prides itself on the rule of law, can you really state that there is a legal right to fire someone because you don't like their sex life or how their marriage performance?

Politicians LIE all the time about EVERYTHING from "I did not have sex with that woman" to "Read my lips, no new taxes". I would REALLY be interested in seeing the American public push a mandate that states if a politician lies about anything it's automatic explusion no matter what their position in gov't is.

Until then, it's just one day and scandal at a time. If Weiner's wife gives him the boot, good. If the Dems find him in violation of ethics rules...good. If people don't vote for the guy because he's a cheater....that's their call. Me, as long as the guy does his job and his sexual preferences don't influence his decisions, his personal life is just that...personal.

What's your point? How does this change or disprove what I've stated previously?

Anthony Weiner: What Was He Thinking?

Have you seen me post anything in support of the Iraq War?

This is not about Iraq. This is about the health care debate. As former Bush speechwriter admits Republicans 'made a strategic decision: we would make no deal with the administration. No negotiations, no compromise, nothing. We were going for all the marbles. This would be Obama’s Waterloo – just as healthcare was Clinton’s in 1994.' Republicans were given a Frank Luntz talking points memo. It was marching orders on how to destroy reform while sounding like they were for it. It is as diabolical, devious and harmful as words and lies can get.

And they kept repeating the same lies in lock step. Government takeover...LIE. Death panels...LIE. Republicans KNEW they were LIES.

They LIED as a strategy...

A-Mazing... I have read through 4 pages of this thread, and all you've done is defend Weiner and continue to try and change the topic. From Bush to Obamacare... you just want to take the conversation off the topic, and you have pulled every card out, even the Hillary card! Anything but to face the facts and the music about Weiner.

For the record, I am with ya Bfoon... I hope they don't force this clown to resign, because he is a complete joke now. He'll never be taken seriously again, he is pretty much ruined for life over this. His own party can't even stand up for the guy, and as much as I hate it, he is going to end up having to resign... but boy I sure hope not, because I want to have his mug on camera representing the liberal democrats from now until Nov 2012. That would just suit me fine!

I am not trying to change the topic. The topic is LIES by public representatives Dixie. Did Anthony Weiner lie...YES. Was anyone harmed...NO. If it makes people uncomfortable to confront lies that DID cause harm to human beings, that is their problem, not mine.

I said it more than once on this thread. I never called for Republican Chris Lee to resign and he represented an adjacent district from mine.

How can honesty not be a relevant issue for all elected officials?

Any person SHOULD be able to understand WHY Anthony Weiner lied about his indiscretions. Anyone who says 'oh yea, I would have been honest and forthright and just admitted I sent picture of my underpants to women that were not my wife' is a BIGGER liar.

What I can't understand or accept is people lying, knowing they are lying, and knowing that actions taken if their lies are believed will cause harm and death to fellow human beings.

What I can't understand is why you find one acceptable and one unacceptable. What I can't understand is why you think lying to us, by any elected official, is acceptable.

This defense of "someone else lied too and it was worse" should not excuse anything. Should courtroom defenses for murder be "But your honor, someone else murdered MORE people"?

Nice spin...but epic fail.

Proper context:

Oh please. You want to spin and spin, trying every defense you can think of from the religious test to the "Bush lied worse". The fact is that he lied.

He lied about his personal life. It has nothing to do with his public life, or his oath to protect and defend the Constitution. You would put a 'fidelity' clause in that oath, which strongly resembles a religious clause, because what he did was not a crime. It could be called a sin.

Where the fuck are all the faux libertarians on this issue. Should the man's private life be his or the states?

Yes, you've tried to change the topic numerous times. First, you tried to talk about Bush:

Post#16: Well then Bush would have been out on his ass the first day wouldn't he? NO ONE DIED because of Weiner's lies. Can you say that about Bush? No, you can't.

Then you went on about Clinton:

Post#50: Did Clinton invade Iraq? I just gave you REALITY. Plenty of it. Can you READ?

Then... Iraq:

Post#52: In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information...blah..blah..blah

Then you moved to religion bashing:

Post#63: And for you to want something that smells like a religious test is unconstitutional.

Then... You jumped on Ike...

Post#105:
Read up on Dwight D. Eisenhower...should he have stepped down as supreme commander during WWII?

Then we move into Health Care:

Post#136: So you better fire off letters to every Republican in the House and Senate, because they LIED to the American people; and the outcome of their lies cost human life.

Finally ended up at Obamacare:

Post#169: This is not about Iraq. This is about the health care debate.

And in between, throwing out your lame defense of Weiner, which even your own despicable party can't seem to muster. It's like you are on a liberal pinhead mission to derail this thread, get righties riled up about something else, so they won't continue to point out Weiner lied to us for two weeks. But hey pinhead, I said I am on your side in this... I don't want Weiner to resign! I'm with you, he shouldn't be forced to... he needs to stay right where he is, and let the people be reminded of his sick perverted indulgences on our dime, and then lying through his teeth about it for two weeks. I had MUCH rather have a discredited Weiner in that seat, than some fresh face without a scandal! Because Mr. Weiner will never again command the respect he once had, he will never again be a voice for anything.... except maybe ExtenZe®!
