1) Obama created an effective safety regulation requiring electronically controlled brakes on trains that carry highly flammable and hazardous liquids.

2) The Reuthuglickers in Congress created a law in 2015 called the FAST Act. It did not effect Obama's train regulation at the time because it only pertained to NEW regulations put in place AFTER the 2015 FAST Act was in place.

The Rethuglickers passed a law, that would make any NEW --> FUTURE regulations have to be profitable for the train industry.

The East Palestine train derailment was caused by faulty wheel bearings which overheated the crew started getting warning 30 miles before it totally failed and caused a derailment. This has NOTHING to do about brakes and in fact this train did not qualify as a hazardous chemical train that would have required electric brakes. This derailment was caused by ignoring the overheating warnings that the crew started getting 30 miles before the derailment. This was operator error.

Except, the NTSB says the accident was because of a failed wheel bearing and that by the time the train crew were alerted to that, the derailment was already happening. So, Trump and that regulation, or lack thereof, has nothing to do with it except in the fevered, delusional minds of Trump hating TDSer's like you.

And now the filthy MAGATs are screaming that the federal govt. -- i.e. Biden -- should do something. Like what? Since when are the taxpayers responsible for covering the cost of mitigation and cleanup when a corporation fucks up big time? The EPA is already on-scene and doing environmental monitoring. It is their mandate to take Norfolk-Southern to court, if necessary, and force them to clean up after themselves. The citizens can also sue as a class to recover any losses and harm suffered. If the QOP had its way, neither of those two remedial actions would be possible.
