If that was directed at me, it’s a strawman. I didn't say Mamdani represents all Democrats.

But if he wins Republicans will absolutely try to make him the face of the party, just like they do with AOC, Bernie and then Pelosi when they’re trying to win congressional seats. They do it for the same reason Democrats paint Republicans as anti-democracy, fascists, Nazis, extremists, etc. It’s politics 101, and it’s why national Democrats are so focused on this race and have expressed concern.

Socialism and Communism have caused deaths that range from a minimum of 10–20 million to over 100 million.

Americans have walked on the moon, too.

It was only directed at you because you were the one responding.

The thing is, with the Republicans, these days, the extremist is the leader of their party, he basically has made himself THE PARTY.

Capitalism causes death, lots of it. So does Socialism, I agree on that.

I believe in a hybrid system, like we have always had.

Speaking Tuesday at the White House, Trump hurled insults at the Democratic candidate anew.

"We have a Communist, 33 years old, doesn't know a thing, probably never worked a day in his life, and he sort of caught on. I'm not going to send a lot of money to New York," Trump said. "We're not going to ruin one of our great cities, because we'll make that great. We will clean up the crime in about 30 days."

"It took 12 days to do Washington, DC, so New York is bigger, and Chicago, we've already made a lot of progress despite fighting from the government. All of these cities, we want to clean them up," he added. "We don't like that opposition. But if somebody is going to be a communist mayor of New York. It's a fluke if he gets in."

You’re changing the subject. I wasn’t comparing who leads which party, I was pointing out how both sides use the same playbook to define the other.

Look man, I get how this board works. The shared opposition keeps everyone united. It gives us identity and reminds us we’re on the same team. It gets likes and reminds us we’re the good guys.

In such an environment it’s almost an unwritten rule that we don’t discuss our own party. So even though this conversation is being had nationally among Democrats, I get why there’s hesitation to have it here.

I was not changing the subject, I was discussing an element of it. The Democratic party has lots of problems, but the subject was how incorrect it is to believe that who the citizens of NYC elect mayor has much to say about the party.

The Democrats should never have renominated Biden, but they allow the incumbent great power to get himself renominated.

Maybe, I would not put it past him if he felt it was to his advantage.

I think he wants Mamdani to be elected, so he can pretend he is the face of the Democratic party.
