Unfettered capitalism is evil

So according to desh, I'm an asshole and not a dictionary

Also, I'm not allowed to "redefine" words, but according to you, SHE can

Desh has generally been correct about anything that she can observe within a 10 foot radius. Anything outside that circle, she's gonna be "generally" wrong. One thing she's right about, the term unfettered capitalism is widely used, in journalism, in economics, and yes, even the Pope used it. And they all used the word incorrectly. THAT was the point of my reply. If she would have said "Unregulated capitalism is evil", I would probably have said "gee, Captain Obvious, ya think?", and moved on. But I didn't know that she was the only one allowed to use the words and shades of meaning she wants to, while I am not.

back your claim with some facts

yes you are not allowed to redefine words

a democratic government ,you mean mob rule where the rights of the many trample the rights of the few.

we are however a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC,thank GOD.

Democracy is not the same as pure democracy

want me to give you the definitions from Merriam Websters AGAIN

we are a democracy

stop lying

you dont get to redefine words asshole

The republic of the United States of America is a REPRESENTATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL "REPUBLIC". Only a "fool" denies the reality that surrounds them. That's why the left is primarily populated with uneducated fools who parrot propaganda instead of educating themselves to the TRUTH. What? Do you think that others are to stupid to document that simple truth? I did take note that you document nothing, you merely vent your emotions like a bobble headed doll.

Rightwing posters here routinely call black posters n*ggers and female posters c*nts, and this is what you choose to complain about??

Why shouldn't she post her own thread? The salient issue she makes is that we don't really even have capitalism in this country.

The capitalism that existed in the 19th century was so intolerable, so inhumane to the overwhelmingly majority of people, that capitalism had to change. It was forced to change into a more humane hybrid version of a social welfare state with a free market -- because capitalism had to respond to pressure from socialists, progressives, radicals, unionists, and reformers.

So, to the extent we can even celebrate the more humane version of the free market we have today, we can thank lefties and progressives for that. Rightwingers did not lift a finger to make capitalism more humane.

Are you really the one to come on here and talk about how others treat women?

S.E.C. Concedes Oversight Flaws Fueled Collapse
By STEPHEN LABATONSEPT. 26, 2008

WASHINGTON — The chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, a longtime proponent of deregulation, acknowledged on Friday that failures in a voluntary supervision program for Wall Street’s largest investment banks had contributed to the global financial crisis, and he abruptly shut the program down.
The S.E.C.’s oversight responsibilities will largely shift to the Federal Reserve, though the commission will continue to oversee the brokerage units of investment banks.
Also Friday, the S.E.C.’s inspector general released a report strongly criticizing the agency’s performance in monitoring Bear Stearns before it collapsed in March. Christopher Cox, the commission chairman, said he agreed that the oversight program was “fundamentally flawed from the beginning.”
The last six months have made it abundantly clear that voluntary regulation does not work,” he said in a statement. The program “was fundamentally flawed from the beginning, because investment banks could opt in or out of supervision voluntarily. The fact that investment bank holding companies could withdraw from this voluntary supervision at their discretion diminished the perceived mandate” of the program, and “weakened its effectiveness,” he added.

china is losening its regulation on capitalism because they realized the beautiful parts of capitalism.

Unfettered capitalism, like socialism, is a bad way to run a country. Evil? Well, anything dialed to an extreme could be considered evil.

The economy should be regulated capitalism until society evolves beyond the need to accumulate money.

In conclusion, libertarianism is a go-nowhere ideology that implodes when the rubber meets the road. A society built on libertarianism cannot exist in this space-time continuum.

go get your examples so we can talk about them individually

your party deregulates anything they can.

then we get fucked.

regulations are a tool

your fucks want the tool thrown in the trash.
