Unfettered capitalism is evil

We have a shortage of housing in the Bay Area which has pushed prices up to astrnomical amounts and have forced middle class and P.O.C. out. Is it evil to loosen aka deregulate laws that restrict the building of housing?

Desh says deregulation is evil. What say you?

I say, integrity much?

Why are you posting in her thread when you banned her from yours?

The funny thing is, on the major issues of our generation, Desh has generally been correct, even prescient, while rightwingers have been catastrophically wrong.

Desh is correct, the term unfettered capitalism is widely used, in journalism, in economics, even the Pope used it. And it is within her purview to use the words and shades of meaning she wants to in her own thread.
Desh has generally been correct about anything that she can observe within a 10 foot radius. Anything outside that circle, she's gonna be "generally" wrong. One thing she's right about, the term unfettered capitalism is widely used, in journalism, in economics, and yes, even the Pope used it. And they all used the word incorrectly. THAT was the point of my reply. If she would have said "Unregulated capitalism is evil", I would probably have said "gee, Captain Obvious, ya think?", and moved on. But I didn't know that she was the only one allowed to use the words and shades of meaning she wants to, while I am not.

Actually integrity is extremely important to me. TTQ64 and I were going to grab a drink in SF political disagreements on this board be damned. Then she called out my integrity on this board.

Now maybe you agree with Desh that I'm evil, racist,a traitor, the worst father in the world and hoping my daughter hates me. If you agree with her why would you want to grab a drink with me?

Have I EVER called you a racist?

Answer: No, I have not .. and yes, I'd have a beer/doobie with you. :0)

I noticed a derth of economic facts sited in that post

You wouldn't understand it. You were the dumbass who though rental income was "passive income" remember that dumbass?

So why should anyone listen to you? You have expressed zero ability to grasp basic frameworks related to economics and finance.

Your MO is to look up something on Wikipedia then post and claim to be an expert

Well if journalists and the Pope use it.

What nonsense.

it quicky degrades into monopolies that destroy any democracy

Capitalism WORKS GREAT

when it is properly fettered by Democratic Government

To bad that we live in a REPUBLIC and not a social democracy as explained in Article 4 Section 4 Clause 1.

To the contrary.....Our founders proclaimed that a "pure democracy" was historically the worst form of government, especially socialism...as it always ends in violence and revolution. As detailed in Federalist No. 10

Thus, the Republic of the United States of America is in no way a pure democracy.....it was designed as a republic and must be governed as a republic by constitutional degree. When its attempted to be redesigned as a democracy....the results are always the same...violence and turbulence.

Simply look at the violence now taking place.....its from the left, its nothing but random mobs attempting to destroy private property under the guise of freedom of speech while the criminals hide in the crowd with the hope of anonymity.

As I have said many times. Our founders were genius loci. Their spirits are still protecting us from the "FOOLS" within our society that simply want to take from their neighbors without ever contributing to the Republic that protects them from their own stupidity. :)

one person one vote

you dont have a right to decide some citizens cant vote

the reason the right hates the word Democracy is they want to be able to say who can vote

A republic does not promise the right to vote for all.

that is why they cheat to keep Americans from being able to vote
