You have no idea how "close knit" we rural folk are.
When they have a choice between keeping their farms and being charitable to you... They will pick keeping their farms. But honestly, if they can keep selling their produce, they might not have to make that choice. You better hope they keep selling their produce to cities.
Yep, money flows through your NYC (and other big cities)
I don't think you understand how money works. Money flows through NYC, PERIOD!!! Any money leaving or entering the USA, any money moving around the country, almost all the money in the world, flows through NYC. Other big cities service NYC.
but when money is worthless and food isn't, see how much comes your way.
When money is worthless, farmers can not buy the inputs they need to produce food. And they starve. See how that works. Don't believe me, look at North Korea. Their money is almost worthless, and their farmers are starving.
Especially if you keep insulting us.
If I keep insulting you, farmers will kill their own families to get revenge? That does not make sense. If I keep insulting you, farmers will desperately try to sell their produce to try to keep their farms. If I complement you, farmers will desperately try to sell their produce to try to keep their farms. If I ignore you, farmers will desperately try to sell their produce to try to keep their farms.
Do you notice a pattern?
I retired early because I could.
You claim to want to buy some cheap land, and be too poor to do so.
Like I said, we'll never starve because we have ALL the resources compared to you city dwellers. We will not need to attack the cities if it comes to that, we'll just cut off your supplies and watch you turn into cannibals.
98% of production is everything but agriculture. Agriculture needs a lot of those resources to keep producing. Or put another way, the rest of the USA has 98% of the production of the USA to buy food from the rest of the world. The rest of the world is full of farmers desperate to get a good deal like American farmers have.
Do you know what African Farmers could do with the fertilizers, machinery, pesticides, etc that American farmers get? Australian farmers are hit hard by having to compete with the heavy subsidies that American farmers get from our cities. They would be overjoyed if our cities cutoff American farmers and started buying from them at market prices.
