U.S. Women’s Hockey Team Turns Down Trump Invite to State of the Union

There is no "LGBTQ...I" in team... (But apparently there is on the women's hockey team.... The two "deciders" are on a wretched excess outrage tour....)

That is not what happened. Zero went, because it was not individual decisions. What we see here is you ignoring which team we are talking about. One team made the decision for the individuals.

I see we have a failure to communicate. When I said "Some went, some didn't," I was referring to the men's team. You appear to be upset about something I didn't say about the women's team.

They pressured folk. Imagine if you were on the women's team and went after they publicly made the political point. It would take massive courage to buck the trend in that case. IMHO they took away options from the team by making a political decision for them instead of simply allowing them to decide if they wanted to go or not. Men who chose not to go were not pressured to go... but the women were pressured to present a united front and were expected to walk the line.

That's hilarious. Women = too stupid to have their own minds and let one speak for all. Men = they all decided to go even though some did not because men are individuals who don't have team leaders.

And it's this thing called political agenda. Such decisions should not be pressured onto people. Again. Only one team pressured the outcome, creating an environment where no option other than the one that fit their agenda would do, and it wasn't the men.

You better step in line, if you disagree you will be publicly shamed, hated, reviled....
Nah, they just decided as a team not to go.

Not that you're homophobic or anything.

I think it was the President who had the political, good old boys locker room agenda with the statement that he was “being forced” to invite the women’s team.

A point MAGAts will never concede. It's never their fault and always someone else's fault....usually a leftist, brown person or a woman.

Which does not change that it is a political agenda that was forced onto women and removed all options from them unless they were willing to brave the gauntlet of septum ring hell. Only one team was told how they would react, and it doesn't change that women celebrate other women losing options when they agree with the political agenda they are being forced into. Let's say that they were pressured to vote to go to the WH and were going to be burned by the red hat crew if they didn't go... You'd set fire to your keyboard through friction you'd be typing your hate so fast....

I find this interesting. It's okay to force women to agree with you.... It's okay to take away their choices so long as it follows your agenda.

The women had already been invited on the 23rd... The President's remark was totally a joke... A few of the gals are on a US tour trying to explain away their poor choice to not allow the team to attend the celebration at the White House...

To be entirely honest... if I got the invite I'd go, but I'd use it as an opportunity for a left handed complement...

"Sure, Why not? I could eat a Big Mac!" - Damocles accepting an invite to the Trump White House....

It was not a joke. It was an insult. They all took offense . Trump is the Don Rickles of politics. He makes low grade insults at every speech. He is a weird and undiplomatic person. They were living in a high moment as they won the gold medal. Then Trump suggested he would be forced to invite the woman's team too, under potential impeachment. What was the funny part?.

Considering they were invited right after they won their gold the women would have known it was a joke too. IMHO, a crappy joke, I even get some getting bent out of shape about it. But definitely a joke.

They ask, "what was funny about it?" Well. Not much, but not every joke hits. He makes childlike jokes that don't hit... So we should force women to do what "we" want them to, make sure we take away their options... I disagree with that Fascist crap.

Too bad Trump already had a reputation for being an adulterous, womanizing pedophile before he made the "joke". Maybe they might have change their schedule and accepted.

Which had nothing to do with adultery, womanizing, or children. That you put that there is on you, that's what's in your mind, not on his craptacular joke. You do not get to tell my daughter what to think, how to react, push her into your choice and take away her options because of what you don't like about Trump... You don't get to do any of that and if you cared about women as people you shouldn't even want to try, even if you really really hate the guy.

They are all indicators of misogyny.

What kind of woman trusts a man who repeatedly broke his marriage vows to every woman he dated or married? A man who broke his oath to God and the Constitution? Trump's reputation preceded his phone call to the men's hockey team.

Something else to consider; the women's team won the gold on the 19th. The men's team on the 22nd. Who got the phone call from the President?

Indicators of misogyny would be taking away women's choices then celebrating it as if you have "saved the day"... Again: This fascist crap sickens me.
