There are different iterations of the Klan. At least three I think. The more militant versions were in the past and basically died out in the 60's.

The present version---if one is determined to draw an analogy to Islamic extremism lol---more closely resembles the Muslim Brotherhood than ISIS. The Brotherhood essentially works through democratic means to install sharia whereas ISIS is all stick.

The Klan is the left's boogie man for the most part.

Klan are now powerless. They are just a white supremacy group that sit arouind and bitch about 'co-mingling racial blood'.
I dated a woman in the 80's who was all gung ho; she dragged me to a meeting and it was like a prayer meeting with "right ons'

First and foremost, they're white supremacists who cloak their racist notions in Christian garb. Virtually every Christian denomination rejects the Klan. Radical Islamists are first and foremost Muslims who are compelled by their religion to be supremacists. Though liberals would never accept that distinction because it doesn't comport with their historical narrative.

And Islam would do the world a great favor if all sects of Islam rejected Muslim supremacy.
