GM stopped being relevant a long time ago. They off-shored their supply chain 20 years ago and killed our economy when they did so. No one should feel sorry for them.

Just to elaborate on this further, the supply chain mattered because there were many jobs that were eliminated. Back in the mid to late 1990's Ford had roughly 45 supply chain jobs for every factory job. I've seen estimates for GM as high as 85:1. Assume a conservative estimate and only 10 of those jobs per 100 were domestic...when GM offshored they fired 9 out of every 10 employees...do you think that did some damage. GM caused our downturn and we still haven't recovered from it. Fuck GM.

UAW wouldnt like it but they would like to see their jobs stay as opposed to seeing the BO fiasco sent 15k jobs out of the country for starters.
As it went down the only winners were UAW management. They got bailed out of the utter mismansgement of all the union finances including retirement strike funds and all the rest.

GM makes a lot of lousy cars. They are going for the all electric market. They are concentrating on China for that market. What do they need a gasoline fueled car factory in the U.S. for?
