Trump calls removal of Confederate monuments 'so foolish'

You're really a fool. Nazi SOLDIERS. How were they different from confederate soldiers? They both fought to maintain an evil - dispute that. You can't.
are you seriously saying the Confederate soldiers engaged in Nazi behaviors?
Were there Nuremberg type trials for the Confederate vets war crimes?

hit the books

the libs are just getting started

this is from Jill Stein's wannabe VP

They both fought for an evil cause, anatta. Did you have a hard time discerning that from the context?

Just stop. You've already hit rock bottom when defending Trump. Fighting to enslave people is not a "vibrant part of the USA." That's actually a pretty disgusting thing to say. It's like saying the genocide against Native Americans was vibrant.

I said the vets were ASSIMILATED AFTER THE WAR as a vibrant part of the USA..did you take stupid pills or something??

150 years later after the Confederacy is dead, but the vets a past vibrant part of the USA -it stays the same.

WTG Trump
actually i should have worded that better. I mentioned "vets" meaning after the war, but it's not the clearest post

Re-read your post on that. That's not what you said, but I assume you just wrote it incorrectly. I'll take your word for it on that.

It's still a bogus point.

agree. i re-read. my apology
It's not bogus..conflating nazis to Confedertes is 100% bogus..

they both fought for their homeland, not an evil cause

very few soldiers have ideology in their hearts when they fight

they fight becuase they are attacked or to defend their homes or because their leaders order them too

i suppose you say US soldiers in Vitenam fought for an evil cause

did you spit on them and call them baby killers?

their crime was losing

you don't get to have alternative history facts

I'm using it strictly in terms of choosing to fight for an evil cause. On that level, it's accurate.

Comparisons in general are taken to extremes too often in political debates. I can compare Trump's use of propaganda and deceit w/ Hitler's, but people will immediately take it further than intended and claim I'm saying he's "just like Hitler" and a genocidal maniac.

The confederate soldier/nazi analogy only goes as far as what both groups fought for. That's enough for me. As I said yesterday, I'm not offended by Lee's statue - but I don't have ancestors who were slaves. I can't see the argument in keeping the statue up if that group of people sees the status & they are reminded of the torment that their ancestors went through. We're not losing any of our history by taking it down.

The Vietnam analogy is terrible. No, I do not spit on them - I honor all of our vets who fought in foreign wars. I am deeply indebted to all of them.

But they thought they were fighting for American freedom. It is not their fault that the government misrepresented the cause.

With the confederate army, there wasn't much ambiguity. Just about ever secessionist declaration highlighted slavery as a significant part of the cause, and the confederate leaders made no effort to disguise that either.

It's a lame, hyperbolic claim.

considering you are now devolved to conflating Robert E Lee & Co to nazis..
one has to wonder if you ever think things thru

no fucking asshole

it was Nazis protesting the removal of hate statues

they are nazis

the statues are of KKK assholes who hid their faces under sheetss after they LOST a war

its not terrible

many libs call them evil and spit on them and called them baby killer

i put it to you that most soldiers think they are fighting for something good and it's not their fault their government lied to them

according to you

somehow i don't think poor croppers were reading those kinds of documents or going to a lot of speeches during the war
