What was that statement? I'll wait. Why do you think these 'more than a dozen tv stations called the network and said they weren't going to air his show anymore'? You don't think the FCC Chair's statement might have had something to do with it?
Take a look at my post #19. LurchAddams also pointed towards a very interesting article in post #58. Quoting from it:

Walt Disney Co.’s ABC said Wednesday that it was pulling late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s show indefinitely following remarks he made about the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk that had drawn a rebuke from the Trump administration.
“‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ will be preempted indefinitely,” a spokesperson for the network said.
The move came after Nexstar Media Group, which operates 33 ABC affiliates, said it would pull Kimmel’s show over the comments he made during Monday’s broadcast. The Wall Street Journal reported that other affiliate owners had similarly said they planned to pull the show indefinitely.
ABC has around 250 affiliates nationwide.

The move came on the same day FCC Chairman Brendan Carr threatened to take action against broadcasters and their affiliates if steps weren’t taken to rein in Kimmel.
“I think it’s past time these [affiliates] themselves push back and say, ‘Listen, we’re not going to run Kimmel anymore until you straighten this out because we’re running the possibility of license revocation from the FCC if we continue to run content that ends up being a pattern of news distortion,’” Carr said on conservative commentator Benny Jonhson’s YouTube show.
“We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said. “These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”
