the proof Bush team Knew Iraq had no weapons in 2002

I really like most of the people here.

Dixie is a cripple.

He takes up so much space that sometimes people forget to discuss other things.

If any of his points were real it might mean something but he defends his "positions" without logic, without honor, without any sense that he owes other Americans anything.

Hes a waste of others thoughtful incites and provokes some to their lowest level.

Hes a real pathetic soul.

I remember once long ago he poated a picture of himself dressed in some coustume with a snorkle while he stood next to protestors protesting the killing of womens health Drs.

It is Dixie to a tee.

Hes a redicules distraction from what really matters.

I like Dix, I think he is a true advocate for his cause, whatever it might be. Unlike me, who will sometimes begin posting as a Devil's Advocate...

Each of the people have their good points that make the site interesting.

THis place would be dull without Dixie. He is exactly the type whose idiocy I fell compelled to illistrate!

Notice no response to the posts where I pointed out all of his UNTRUE and SLANDEROUS statements about President Clinton.

talking with you begins to resemble running around in circles with a moron. I'm out of this one...

HAha! Yeah, bail on this one, because you've already conceded my point! That's smooth! It's like having your ass handed to you, and saying... WOW, my ass! I've been looking for that! Thanks for finding it for me!

no. because we disagree...and what you pass off as "logic" is inherently illogical...but explaining that to you is like telling the anorexic girl that she is ridiculously skinny and unattractive - nothing but a cyclical exercise in futility. I have not conceded your point.

I think that Bush mislead us about cherrypicked intelligence in order to scare us into supporting a stupid war that his neocon mentors thought was not only smart, but that it would also be easy. They were wrong.

You don't act like the kind of person who likes anyone.

Dixie is a cripple.

Seems you would treat the handicapped a little nicer?

He takes up so much space that sometimes people forget to discuss other things.

LMAO... there's bandwidth-o-plenty! ...And how can you forget how to cut and paste? It's Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V!

If any of his points were real it might mean something but he defends his "positions" without logic, without honor, without any sense that he owes other Americans anything.

I don't often use pinhead logic, that is true! I have all kinds of honor, being a Son of the Confederacy and all. And as far as I know, I don't owe other Americans anything. Do you think you owe other Americans something? I'm curious as to what you think you might owe me... I love surprises!

Hes a waste of others thoughtful incites and provokes some to their lowest level.

And I make people misspell words like "incites"... they just get so flustered, they forget how to type or spell sometimes. Provoking you to your lowest level is beneficial to me, it is done by design. It demonstrates how low you will go, which is generally a good measure of your character.

Hes a real pathetic soul.

I didn't think people who didn't believe in God, believed in souls?

I remember once long ago he poated a picture of himself dressed in some coustume with a snorkle while he stood next to protestors protesting the killing of womens health Drs.

You must have been on drugs that day, because I have never posted such a picture. In fact, I have never had my picture made, wearing a snorkel, and I don't even know any women's health doctors, dead or alive. You sure this wasn't toby or brent?

It is Dixie to a tee.

Actually, not so much.... not so much, at all.

Hes a redicules distraction from what really matters.

LOL... No, what is 'redicules' is your spelling, and my distracting you from posting more left-wing kook propaganda, is what really matters.

As I said, lies must have a tenable justification, that is sound logic. Bush had no reason to lie, he didn't need to cherrypick intelligence, he didn't need to scare you, he didn't need your support for war, and the easier the neocons thought it would be, the less public support he would need personally. The president, as you admit, has the full authority to do whatever he pleases with the military.

He could have taken out Saddam at any time, and he would not require your permission or approval to do so. What's more, he doesn't have to have much of an excuse... he could say anything... he didn't like the way Saddam died his moustache... he was gettin' revenge for Pappy! It didn't matter, it would have had no more significant impact on his political status, as deliberately lying about something he knew would be discovered, it just makes no sense.

When you speak of "cherrypicking intelligence", you are talking about the case Bush and Powell made to the UN. Again, this was not something which was mandatory, the president does not have to receive UN approval before commanding the military of the US. There might be a tenable justification to lie to the UN, to garner international support, to help defer the cost and manpower, etc. But it has not been demonstrated that anyone intentionally lied to the UN. The best case scenario you can find, is that the administration "cherrypicked" intelligence, to present to the UN for consideration in their plea. This is not uncommon or abnormal in any respect, and is very logical. In most cases, when one party is trying to get another party to do something, the case is made in the most positive light, and disregarding of any negative points. To test this theory, go test drive a new Toyota Camry... the salesman will tell you, it is America's #1 best selling car.... he will not tell you that more Camry's were stolen last year than any other vehicle. He is "cherrypicking" intelligence to get you to buy a car. This is far different from lying, which has to have a tenable justification.

Of course he needed the American people to support the war. He wanted to be reelected...he would not have been had he stormed into a war with no popular support. He created the fear which created the support...the false optimism of the neocon cabal regarding rose petals and statues of Bush in Baghdad and doing it on the cheap and having the oil revenues pay for it and watching the Iraqis just jump at the chance to forget age old enmities and forge a multicultural jeffersonian democracy shining like a beacon of freedom in the middle east that would fulfill the PNAC dream...they all thought that would happen and they all thought that when it did, the little details about no actual WMDs would be forgotten in the euphoria of the New American Century. Bush could not have achieved his first midterm gains if he hadn't already misled us with fear by that fall.... he could not have maintained the public's support for the war had he not been successful in conflating Saddam and 9/11... he could not have been reelected if he hadn't convinced us that everything was going according to plan and that the elections and the constitution and the assembly (and the sharia -which didn't get much mention) were all wonderful signs that the jeffersonian democracy was right around the corner.... that, and the democrat's weak candidate and the swiftboat lies... he needed those too.... and then, it finally started to come unglued. The American people finally started to realize that they had been sold a bottle of snake oil... that there were no WMD's..that Saddam hadn't had anything to do with 9/11 and had no reason whatsoever to get buddy buddy with an organization sworn to his demise.... that the insurgency wasn't going to end after all of the predictions that it would...after Saddam's sons were captures...nope...after Saddam was captured....nope....after sovereignty was restored....nope...after the first election....nope...after the constitutional referendum....nope.... after the formation of a government.... nope.... after Zarqawi was killed....nope.... and finally...FINALLY... enough Americans finally GOT it... and they showed how much they got it by not only giving Democrats an additional seat in both chambers, as you and I had bet $100 over, but they handed the Democrats a MAJORITY in BOTH chambers. Something NO one was predicting would happen....least of all YOU.

Bush lied and misled because he was confident in the stunning and inevitable success of the PNAC grand agenda. Had it BEEN successful, the "little white lies" about Saddam's WMD's would have seemed inconsequential...and Bush, quite frankly, never imagined that the agenda would be anything BUT a success. WHen the war turned into a quagmire and a civil war, the little moron with ADD in the oval office obviously grew petulant and bored and wanted some the whole thing to just go away.

poor george.

poor dixie.

and Dixie...Bush did more than merely cherrypick...he lent an air of certainty to intelligence estimates that the analysts themselves did not present..... the stuff about WMD's was old... some based upon single sources and dubious ones at that...some was based upon satellite photographs open to interpretation.... there was no professional spook at the CIA saying that there was any degree of "certainty" to the WMD intell....yet, Georgie and Dickie and Rummy and Condi and Wolfie and Perlie all were telling us that there was NO DOUBT...that it was CERTAIN...that not only were we CERTAIN he had WMD's...we even knew where they were! The vast majority of Americans were totally surprised when Saddam turned up empty handed. Because they had been told that there had been no doubt about the intelligence when the intelligence itself was covered with caveats and conditions and probabilities....THAT is the big lie, Dixie... Saying there was NO DOUBT is the lie you cannot escape.

Intentional misleading is lying. Plain and simple.
And if anyone cares to doubt this:

Main Entry: 3lie
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): lied; ly·ing /'lI-i[ng]/
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English lEogan; akin to Old High German liogan to lie, Old Church Slavic lugati
intransitive verb
1 : to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive
2 : to create a false or misleading impression

(Emphasis added)

Bush could not sell his war for what it was really for, so he had to come up with other reasons. All of which except Sadam being a bad man having been proven false.
Will the Iraq war go down in history as the first round in the "Oil Wars" or the "religious wars" ?
