As I said Texas did not make a law that promotes it. In Texas I can sue you if I don't like how you part your hair. This provision in the law just does not give a person special protection. Any way women that are only 20 week pregnant are 100% capable of traveling by themselves no assistance needed. They do it every day of the week. I had a neighbor that was a flight attendant and the airlines let her work till 26 weeks.

Read the law. The state can't enforce that section since they wrote the law that way to prevent the state from being taken to court. Since the action is not done by a government employee, the state is not a participant and can't be prevented from enforcing the law.

In this woman's case if her health was at risk then she could get a legal abortion in Texas. If she wants she could go NOW to another state and any one would be free to help her do it. The TS is correct. It was always a lie, and we knew in Red States, that say 'oh access to abortion for mothers who are at risk of serious health damage is allowed'.
The laws are written so vague that any doctor who undertakes them, has to worry about being sued civilly or any activist prosecutor trying to send a message by prosecuting them, win or lose.
no Doctors want to be the guinea pig for that, so they will just avoid it.
BUt at least the lie is exposed as here you have the clearest case of a baby who will not survive birth and likely not survive to birth, and a mother who may lose her ability to have any future children.

The purpose of allowing civil suits, is because activists extremists on the right with money will absolutely sue, ratcheting up the expense on the group who can least afford it. Anyone wealthy enough is already just leaving on a 'vacation' and getting it done quietly. These laws are to trap the lower middle class and below. Up the cost, up the risk to doctors or anyone that might considering helping them.

They would have to prove in their filing that somehow they were hurt financially or otherwise by the action they were suing for. If they couldn't prove that, the lawsuit would be tossed as meaningless. Civil suits have to show some loss or injury. How is someone not involved with an abortion hurt by that action?
