I currently pay 22% federal taxes. I can afford to raise that to 30% if it means helping to have a universal safety net from cradle to grave.

I've earned my living since age 17, Moron. None of my income has ever come from welfare. I did have a short period of unemployment a long while back where I collected unemployment...and I do collect Social Security.
