The faster we totally COLLAPSE the welfare state. Huge HUGE win for all. This will not only expand the work force but END forever the lefts ability to BUY votes thru handouts. Without putting too much effort into it Im guessing that we would have at least another 120 million or so people living in America if not for Abortion because those first aborted would have children of their own by now and they would have had children as well. MANY/MOST born into poverty. If so,.....the Welfare state would have collapsed long ago already. The left NEEDS the welfare state,....without it THEY HAVE NOTHING.

What we now call the WOKE have spent many decades creating a population that is ignorant fragile and afraid for purposes of power.....the welfare state is expanding.....and will continue to expand.....because that is what power wants.

But they HAVE TO control how far it expands or they cannot fund it. Abortion is how they control it. If they cannot control it,.....it collapses......if it collapses.......so do they. Game over.

Do people get that population is starting to become a major sustainability issue?

I find this interesting because there's always nuance in politics and interesting bedfellows. Generally speaking I feel like its more people on the right who are calling for the need to limit immigration into this country (you didn't say limit immigration but that goes along with saying our country is over populated) and not that poli talker speaks for anyone but himself but he's taking the Libertarian position of open borders saying we needs large numbers of new people in this country.

I didn't know that was Poli talker's view. I'm not big on that either.

For me, population is both an American problem & a worldwide problem. I'm kind of surprised it isn't talked about more these days; I think by mid-century it could be our top concern. At some point, it's just logical that we'll need some sort of population control (unless we can really branch out into the stars & other planets, which I think is probably unlikely).
 
Yes.....its always interesting to me how the left uses over population as an argument for abortion while at the same time picketing for open borders. :thinking:

It is good to be fruitful and multiply. So I did. But I didnt multiply more than what I could afford nor did I ask someone else to pay for MY CHILDREN. We need a lot MORE responsibility and a lot less baby killing because you are too stupid to have your mate put on a rubber, or use the pill, or use an IUD , or any other of a whole host of products easily available to all . GROW UP.

Exactly...If people were more responsible, there would be a lot less need for abortion...
We've just been "advised" that any changes to abortion policies are going to ruin "good relationships"...no more getting away with paying for half an abortion and giving a ride that result from one night stands...No more ladies and gentlemen..."No tail without huge cost"
Bummer, I tell you....
 
abortion is not ending. Some states will severely restrict access, most will not

coalitions will slowly change as a result. A lot of religious right will start showing their authoritarian colors and will fight to use the federal system to restrict rights - it is politically expedient to do it that way if you have the support, I do not believe they will ever have that support

Probably. Though I'd hate it to be something so dramatic, and the China association doesn't help.

But on a practical level, population control is something we should start talking about if we care at all about long-term sustainability. That's just a fact.
