A 55-year-old Texas man was arrested after his gun discharged in an elementary school, leaving him with a gunshot wound to his leg, authorities said.

The incident reportedly triggered a lockdown at Duff Elementary School in Arlington shortly before noon Thursday.

ABC News identified the gunman as Anthony White, who is a parent to a student at the school.

You can add onto 22 deaths in this school shooting a few dozen more in copy cat, and "accidental" gun deaths. It is going to be a bad summer, especially in Texas. I would not want to be a paperboy in Texas, a couple of them will be gunned down by NRA members "just in case."
 
I'm just continually fascinated by the acceptance level of the gunners, NRA flunkies and MAGA minions when it comes to stuff like this. You've got to wonder how many of them have lost family or friends in mass shooting and STILL talk the SOS?

What happens when you let untrained ("unregulated" per the Second Amendment) morons carry around firearms. Thank the gods it wasn't a child who was hit.

He's 55 and has a kid in grade school? Hmm.

So surgeons, nurses, and patients should also be carrying? What about grocery shoppers and store employees? Concert- and movie-goers? Pastors? The choir and parishioners? Everybody?

If an armed intruder breaks into your school that you were teaching at would you rather be:

1 armed with chalk

2. armed with a gun and be trained on how to properly defend yourself with it?


I know which answer I would choose. Police are humans and teachers are humans . Humans can be trained. Defending yourself is a human instinct.
