Tesla Model 3 named winner in KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Awards 2022. MAGA wets panties

Red herring fallacy. Misdirection by trying to change the subject won't work. An appeal to popularity--mostly forced on the buying public by government rather than market choice in any case--does nothing to change that the car is horrifically expensive to repair and still one of the worst made vehicles in America. Tesla is the "Yugo" of the car market today.

For example, since California's government has mandated a forced end to use of ICE vehicles in that state--something that the market had no part in deciding--what you are claiming is utter bullshit. People are being forced--FORCED--into EV's by Progressive Leftist Democrats who are unscientific and even anti-science oriented. There is no reason for needing to force people into EV's other than political whims of the radical Left.

FUCK THE RADICAL LEFTIST STUPID RETARDS WHO DON'T KNON SHIT ABOUT SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING--LIKE YOU!

Oooh, look at the MAGA moron getting all triggered over people buying EVs. Why does it bother you so much that people are buying EVs en masse?
And your argument that the governments are forcing people to buy EVs is another lame argument. Car manufacturers aren't stupid. They know EVs are the future and ICE cars are going to fade out like the slide rule and VHS recorders.

What EV are you going to buy in 10 years, T.A. Garbler?

Ah, now comes the insults and ad hominem when trying to change the subject doesn't work...

Well, tard, I plan on spending my money rebuilding an older vehicle that is ICE rather than buying some computerized EV. Can't stop that from happening--at least yet. My most likely choice is to rebuild my Lotus Europa and have professionals do it for say, $30,000 to $50,000 which is much cheaper than buying an EV. The vehicle will be like new, get 40+ mpg and be a hell of a lot more fun to drive than some over-engineered POS EV.

Tesla Model 3 named as one of the winners in KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Awards for 2022

The Tesla Model 3 was recently deemed by Kelley Blue Book as one of the winners in its 5-Year Cost to Own Awards for 2022. KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Award explores the costs associated with the ownership of a vehicle. This includes the vehicle’s price, maintenance costs, fuel or charging rates, any state tax, and registration fees, as well as a car’s depreciation over a 5-year ownership period, among others.

As per the automotive research company, the 2022 Tesla Model 3 leads the “Electric Luxury Vehicle” segment with a 5-year cost to own of $48,233. According to Kelley Blue Book, the Model 3’s 5-year cost to own is $16,411 less than the segment average. This is quite impressive, especially considering that the Model 3 is Tesla’s entry-level vehicle today.

The fact that the Model 3 was dubbed by KBB as one of the winners in its 2022 5-Year Cost to Own Awards is quite unsurprising, especially if one were to consider that electric vehicles like Teslas do not need as much maintenance as their internal combustion engine-powered counterparts. And being part of Tesla’s ecosystem, the Model 3 enjoys a number of perks that some of its rivals in the “Electric Luxury Vehicle” segment do not enjoy as well, such as Supercharging rates, which are extremely convenient and affordable

Leftists hare Tesla now, try to keep up.

That value will drop dramatically the first time a battery change is needed. ;)

Your surrender is accepted, T.A. Garbler.

Liberals like Tesla because it makes them feel superior conservatives don't need a car to make them feel superior.

A tesla is only good for five years, then it will be a costly item to dispose of. Meanwhile, I have cars that are over 50 years old.

You truly are an idiot. I can toss in the occasional insult. Everybody here does. It's when your entire answer is nothing but an insult and ad hominem that it's a problem. You are making yet another logical fallacy. This time you are cherry picking. That I toss in the occasional insult doesn't invalidate that your response was nothing but insults and ad hominem. That's a form of the tu quoque fallacy using cherry picking on your part.

You lose, you fucking, radical Leftist, idiot.

They might last up to 10 years depending. But that doesn't invalidate that when they suffer a serious breakdown, they're toast and finished. If anything, they are throwaway cars meant to be forced on people by leasing rather than ownership.

On that note, the radical Left wants you to be a renter of everything, own nothing. That's because ownership makes you far more willing and likely to be Conservative and anti-Left in your views.

A Bolt starts at 26,600 bucks. You are spending 30 to 50 or a decrepit junker. It will likely cost a lot more. EVs are fun to drive. 19 highway 22 on the Eway. https://www.niaid.nih.gov/about/anthony-s-fauci-md-bio

Here's the latest 'gotcha' from Tesla in an effort to keep OEM / aftermarket repair shops and such from fixing their batteries rather than customers being forced to go to a dealer and buy a completely new battery.

Their 4680 battery pack is now completely potted with a rigid foam making it nearly impossible to work on it in any way.

This also makes this battery virtually impossible to recycle in any way.

Rightys are always wrong with they talk about EVs. https://blog.ucsusa.org/jessica-dunn/are-ev-batteries-recyclable/

Where's your proof that Musk is a racist. I'm not going to believe it just because you said it.

You typing it on a political forum doesn't make it true, volssuck.

Too bad about Hendon Hooker. No playoffs for Tennessee. BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!
He sells more White Teslas than Black Teslas.

My Best friend had a Europa it was a great car and handled like crazy. IIRC it had two gas tanks for better balance. It was a DOHC engine before it was popular.

Your attempt to associate EV popularity with political left/rightism is very telling.
Might be a good idea to see a Catholic priest to exorcise those leftist demons from your soul.
Or at least read my signature below (especially red type). It applies to you. I'm just trying to help.

Joey, ever think about entering your car in the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash?

Yep. Mine has a twin weber engine off a Cortina rally car replacing the original. Handles like it's on rails. Super easy to work on if you know where to get the parts--that's the hard part of that--but I do know so it's not a big issue.

If you don't put your foot in it, it gets insane gas mileage.

But it is exactly that politically. Leftist and radical Leftist governments are forcing them on the public. That's true in California, China, Norway, and elsewhere. Nobody would buy the things if the government wasn't subsidizing them heavily while outlawing alternatives. That's the ONLY reason they are gaining market share. If the market wasn't being skewed by government intervention EV's would be the dead end they actually are.

For example, Norway leads the pack in EV percentages currently. The government there uses the following laws and incentives to get people to use EV's:

No purchase/import tax on EVs (1990-)
Exemption from 25% VAT on purchase (2001-)
No annual road tax (1996-2021). Reduced tax from 2021. Full tax from 2022.
No charges on toll roads (1997- 2017).
No charges on ferries (2009- 2017).
Maximum 50% of the total amount on ferry fares for electric vehicles (2018-)
Maximum 50% of the total amount on toll roads (2018-)
Free municipal parking (1999- 2017)
Access to bus lanes (2005-). New rules allow local authorities to limit the access to only include EVs that carry one or more passengers (2016-)
25% reduced company car tax (2000-2008). 50 % reduced company car tax (2009-2017). Company car tax reduction reduced to 40% (2018-2021) and 20 percent from 2022.
Exemption from 25% VAT on leasing (2015-)
The Norwegian Parliament decided on a national goal that all new cars sold by 2025 should be zero-emission (electric or hydrogen) (2017).
«Charging right» for people living in apartment buildings was established (2017-)
Public procurement: From 2022 cars needs to be ZEV. From 2025 the same applies to city buses

https://elbil.no/english/norwegian-...ree municipal parking (1999- 2017) More items

The official government goal in Norway is to be 100% EV or non-emissions cars by 2025. The government set the policy, then drafted laws and incentives to FORCE the population into EV's. There was little interest in doing so otherwise. The government had to FORCE the population to do it.

China and California are doing the exact same thing in various ways. They aren't letting the market decide in the least. All are governments that are on the Left, radical Left, or lean Left. There aren't any Right leaning governments calling for EV's, like say Hungary...

So, I am exactly correct and your bullshit answer is exactly that. It is you that needs a reality check, and reality is that only by the Left and radical Left pushing EV's have they gained market share.

They did not draft policies to force people to buy EVs. They made it financially a better deal. The tax on pollutionmobiles is 25 percent. There are people concerned about the environment. Nobody will be selling polluters in 2035. The market does not care about the environment, but to suggest people are not buying EVs because they like them is dishonest. Plenty of people buy EVs for better looks and more fun to drive. They also care about pollution. Those are good reasons to buy one,. They are the reason I did and my son did.
