A friend had a concours-quality BOSS 302, most didn't know what they were looking at, they just thought it was a nice '70 BOSS Mustang. He sold it because his wife didn't want him to put any miles on it and bought a '07 GT 500. He died that winter from battling the Chinese Disease.
The short 90" wheelbase and Jag rear end make smoking the tires scary, the rear end can go out from under you in a split second. It breaks the tires loose in a quick 3500 rpm shift into 3rd. gear now.
One of my friends had a '11 Porsche GT3 RS, one of the last built with a manual trans. That was one fast car. He traded it in for a new GT4 because he wanted a Porsche he could drive more often.
We never ran either side by side, both had excellent acceleration, but the GT3 RS would out run the Cobra top end.
I'm gonna keep the Cobra for the upcoming summer, I may look for another '67 or '68 Mustang Fastback. We'll see when that time comes.
Funny thing is, I was looking at a '07 GT 500 before I came across this Cobra,
but the 8 yr. old who first saw a Cobra and wanted one ever since, won out.
I didn't expect to spend another $30k on a new engine though.

The period correct 427 does make it's value increase to where I shouldn't lose money on it.
