I'd be interested in a plug-in hybrid with third row seating.
No offense...but....
So...you want a vehicle that costs FAR more than a conventional car.
And will cost even more to maintain (as it has two, separate power systems)?
Why do you think the major manufacturers push hybrids, SO much?
Because they make
less money on them?
They aren't stupid.
They push them because they help their CAFE.
They can make a killing on every one they sell.
The dealers love them because they are even more complicated and thus will require even more parts/service (and dealers make roughly 50% of their profits from parts/service).
Plus, they stop people from buying EV's - which, unless they are very high end - they make dick on.
Plus, dealers/parts stores are terrified of EV's - because they are so simple compared to conventional cars/trucks.
And please save the tired old 'EV's have lots of parts that ICE's do.'
Sure, but they 100% for certain, require
less parts. That can only hurt the parts market.
Also, look at brakes?
Any decent EV with brake regen needs to use and replace it's brakes, FAR less than a standard ICE does.
It is almost impossible that regen braking - if used properly - cannot lower the need to use conventional brakes.
And that can save a boatload of money and parts (as we all know, brakes can get EXTREMELY expensive to repair).
The ONLY reason manufacturers love hybrids is to stop the inevitable switch to EV's...which they are terrified of due to the latter's simplicity and high cost to manufacture (at present).
Plus, they make more money on hybrids.
But...it's your money.
I want either a conventionally-powered vehicle or an all-electric one.
I want NOTHING, WHATSOEVER to do with fucking 'hybrids'.
I see someone driving a hybrid car/light duty truck?
I laugh (inside or out) at foolish they look.
Like years ago, when some moron buys a sports/GT/pony car and then fits it with an automatic transmission.
