Tesla Model 3 named winner in KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Awards 2022. MAGA wets panties

Probably not but they did turn the ball over 4 times in the game. I'd be a little worried about that ;)

Yes, 4 turnovers can cost you the game. Just ask the Dolphins. Not concerned as much as if the Eagles had played their first string QB.

That said, I'm a die hard Steelers fan. As for us, I believe we have a very good up and coming rookie QB. He pulled one out for us against the Raiders.

Solar on your house isn't "free." Those panels didn't sprout up on your roof after a rain. You paid some contractor to put them there and for all intents paid for 20 + years of electricity in buying them.

They don't last either. Those panels are subject to the effects of weather, bugs and other critters, and begin to lose efficiency the moment they are exposed to sunshine.
Trying to charge an EV from just solar panels will take days, not hours.

Perry is just making shit up again. He does this fairly often.

You are good grandpaw. Just make sure you check it out every once and a while because girls/kids don't know how to maintain cars.

Don't get me wrong EVs have there place. But I think the should slowly be phased in as sources for cleanly obtained and ethically sourced materials to make them become available. At present the techniques used to mine the lithium and the cobalt used in EVs abuses those that mine them and the environment is suffering damage. If we are going to EVs ,and I believe we are, we should mine our materials CLEANLY in the US if possible. And our EV production should not exceed our ability to cleanly and ethically supply the minerals needed to make them.

I think Hybrids are going to start becoming more popular. U.S. sales of hybrid vehicle sales jumped 76% to 801,550 vehicles last year, accounting for 5% of U.S. light vehicle sales in 2022.

But, last year, the price of gasoline was too high. But, the thing is, people don't easily forget that the price of gasoline can go back up at any time.

So, I look for sales of hybrids to start doubling every year until they become the standard. We're probably 4 or 5 years away from when it will become the standard sale!

Only the wealthiest people can afford the pricey EV's!

I'd be interested in a plug-in hybrid with third row seating.

The Eagles Backup QB did a good job a couple of those interceptions were not his fault. He threw for 355 yards and 3 TDs. Our Backup OB won four straight for us when Dak was hurt..

I'm sorry, T.A., but even I know they don't make trailers (even double wides) that large. LOL. Nice try, though. LOLOLOL.

I doubt that. I'd probably vet my contractors a bit better than that. You wouldn't make the cut.
So you use contractors that don't do quality work...gotit.
Cheap work won't get you outta the trailer park, bub.
Purchasing and mounting solar panels ain't cheap.
LOLOLOL. Sure, sure, sure.
So you don't insulate the box you are living in on the street. Gotit.
You're an idiot.
Nah. That's you. Inversion fallacy. It is YOU discarding mathematics, engineering, history, and theories of science. ALL for your religions.
You're a contractor who installs stuff for people.
And good work it is, too.
I studied geochemistry.
There is no such thing as 'geochemistry'. You are making shit up again.
I know more about coal and oil than you do about...well, anything. LOL.
You have already demonstrated you know nothing about either.
LOL. A "contractor" who thinks he's also an engineer/scientist. Now I've heard everything.
Engineers ARE contractors. So are a lot of scientists. That doesn't change the fact that you deny and discard both sound engineering AND theories of science.

Your religions have blinded you. No gas or vapor has the capability to warm the Earth. You cannot create energy out of nothing.

If I recall, a back up QB won the Super Bowl for the Eagles a few years ago.
Anyway, it looks like both will make the playoffs. It ain't lookin' too good for us Steelers fans though :(

Fuck you, you moron.

No, seriously, fuck you.

No offense...but....

So...you want a vehicle that costs FAR more than a conventional car.
And will cost even more to maintain (as it has two, separate power systems)?

Why do you think the major manufacturers push hybrids, SO much?
Because they make less money on them?
They aren't stupid.

They push them because they help their CAFE.
They can make a killing on every one they sell.
The dealers love them because they are even more complicated and thus will require even more parts/service (and dealers make roughly 50% of their profits from parts/service).
Plus, they stop people from buying EV's - which, unless they are very high end - they make dick on.
Plus, dealers/parts stores are terrified of EV's - because they are so simple compared to conventional cars/trucks.

And please save the tired old 'EV's have lots of parts that ICE's do.'
Sure, but they 100% for certain, require less parts. That can only hurt the parts market.
Also, look at brakes?
Any decent EV with brake regen needs to use and replace it's brakes, FAR less than a standard ICE does.
It is almost impossible that regen braking - if used properly - cannot lower the need to use conventional brakes.
And that can save a boatload of money and parts (as we all know, brakes can get EXTREMELY expensive to repair).

The ONLY reason manufacturers love hybrids is to stop the inevitable switch to EV's...which they are terrified of due to the latter's simplicity and high cost to manufacture (at present).
Plus, they make more money on hybrids.

But...it's your money.

I want either a conventionally-powered vehicle or an all-electric one.
I want NOTHING, WHATSOEVER to do with fucking 'hybrids'.

I see someone driving a hybrid car/light duty truck?
I laugh (inside or out) at foolish they look.

Like years ago, when some moron buys a sports/GT/pony car and then fits it with an automatic transmission.

I didn't say I'd buy it. A car that I could drive the 45 mile round trip to take my grandson to school every day on electricity. But still having a car that I could drive 300 miles to my farm in southeast Texas is interesting. I would put the pencil to it and only then make a choice. EV's so far don't meet those two needs for me. I would consider one for my wife if the price was competitive enough to make sense and the reliability made sense to me. But saving 2-3 gallons of gas a day is attractive but more attractive at $5 a gallon gas than $2.65.

Hell your engine alone costs 1/2 as much as a Tesla. :rofl2:

Yes, you are correct (an expensive Tesla at that!). I'd bet you'd have much more fun and gain far more  driving my Cobra than a Tesla though. Hell, you'd go unnoticed in the Tesla, no? :)

I wonder how they would do in a Texas hail storm. I have already lost 2 roofs due to hail.

In the Town I live in Teslas are like belly buttons everyone has one. I break my neck every time I spot a Cobra though. In fact my computer is flashing ads for a 427 (just a sm blk) Cobra right now for 85K right now . Used of course. BTW did you assemble yours?

No, mine was factory built out of Gadsden AL by Unique Motorcars. Top quality and American made. Many more expensive "rollers" were built in South Africa. I spent almost 2 years doing research (within my budget) looking at what other owners said of their cars. I did the same for engine builders (my car sat for 2 years). I could have had a 390 built by spring, but I wanted an authentic 427 Side Oiler. I could scare you into a state of shock without opening the secondaries. This car is NOT for the timid.

My computer was built in Taiwan DickHead.

Your display probably came from Japan (the largest manufacturer of computer displays). Most custom chips come from Taiwan. Your processor probably came from Malaysia, Vietnam, or Costa Rica if Intel, or from the States of America if AMD. Memory is manufactured typically in Malaysia, Japan, Korea, or Vietnam, and some suppliers are in Mexico or the States of America.

Mechanicals (case and power supply circuitry) often come from China.
