...and now for a bit of 'expert' worship...
You actually think you have it figured out over industrial leaders, politicians, manufacturers, engineers, and climatologists.
Void reference fallacy. You are also AGAIN ignoring that Ford AND Toyota are getting out of EVs, the two largest manufacturers of cars and trucks.
'Industrial leaders' manufacture shit every day (until they go out of business!).
Politicians are not experts on anything. They do not manufacture anything. They are not automotive engineers. Neither are you.
Engineers (including automotive engineers) design shit every day. See your typical poorly designed car, terrible phones, packages that are hard to open, etc; as examples.
'Climatology' is a religion. It is not a study of anything. Climate is NOT weather. Weather changes, climate cannot. No gas or vapor has the capability to warm the Earth. No gas or vapor has the capability to destroy the Earth.
You should not make that bet. You will lose.

YOU are already losing! Less than 1% of the cars on the road are EVs. The backlash against the tyranny you support is building. Bans on ICE vehicles is not going to last long!
Fuel cells huh? You are grasping trying to back your hate of EVs with shots in the dark.
Quite the opposite. The disadvantages of EVs is obvious. He is simply pointing them out. So have I. There is no reason to ban ICE vehicles.
* Large battery packs are EXPENSIVE, making the car EXPENSIVE!
* Charging these packs and using them requires almost TWICE as much energy to go the same distance as simply burning gasoline in the same sized car going the same distance.
* The EV is inconvenient, requiring HOURS to charge them. 'Topping off' doesn't count. That's just constantly becoming a worry wart about charging them. MANDATES to require charging stations in shopping centers and businesses are fascism. That is THEFT of private property to support a STATE RELIGION.
* The EV is dangerous and easily totaled in an accident. ANY damage to any single cell effectively totals the car. ANY corrosion or damage to any single cell can start a fire that cannot be put out with water. Lithium is FAR MORE DANGEROUS than gasoline!
* The EV is HEAVY. Parking structures built to code have collapsed under the weight of EVs in them. This excess weight damages roads as well, and makes the car's handling sluggish. Winding roads or slalom courses are particularly bad for EVs for this reason. This weight also means you can carry far less of a payload. This problem is worse as the size of the vehicle is increased (such as a truck or semi-truck). It also means EVs will never be used as a practical aircraft.
* The EV is only designed for ideal driving conditions. Cold weather, heavy snow and ice, flooding, road salts, etc all serve to seriously reduce range or even permanently damage the battery pack permanently. They make a TERRIBLE off-road vehicle.
* The EV requires materials that are NOT renewable, and is getting harder and harder to obtain (especially the lithium), making the EV even MORE expensive. EV manufacturers are compensating by using smaller battery packs, which of course reduces range correspondingly. 60Mj packs are much more commonplace now, and some packs are as small as 40Mj.
* EVs require special shops for repair and maintenance (read: EXPENSIVE). ICE cars don't.
* EVs do NOT 'save the planet' or reduce CO2. They still need to be charged (using almost twice the energy to do it than a gasoline car simply driving the same distance). All EVs do is move the 'tailpipe' to some remote location.
* EVs have TERRIBLE life span of the vehicle. Once the battery pack goes, the car is junk. Batteries suffer aging, and range is reduced all the way.
Gasoline is a renewable fuel. It's cheap (the ONLY reason for high prices right now is government interference and taxes!). It has a lot of power for it's weight (gasoline has the highest power by volume, while kerosene has the highest volume by weight). Hydrogen does NOT have the highest power by weight, since that is only true if you are pressurizing it to insane pressures that a fuel tank could never withstand...far greater than 3000psi! You simply can't carry enough hydrogen by volume to equal the weight.
Gasoline is available everywhere. You can refuel in minutes. You do not need to constantly 'top off' and indeed that's largely pointless.
The gasoline or diesel engine is cheap and easily produced. I can buy two or even three new gasoline cars of the same size for the same price as ONE EV. The engine an be easily maintained with simple tools. No specialized shop needed.
Don't buy one. But you are so wrong.
No.
I will stick to my gasoline and diesel vehicles. They're a lot cheaper, a lot lighter, a lot more convenient, have effectively infinite range (since it only requires a few minutes to refuel them), I can carry and tow a lot more payload with them, I can do my own maintenance (and I do), and they last as long as I maintain them.
They are don't pose any special fire hazard, and last a LONG time (there are still cars built over 70 years ago driving around!). Heck...the aircraft I fly is 62 years old and still flying just as well as ever!
I haul and tow a whale of a lot of stuff with my truck. My tractor does the job quickly and efficiently and I can use it easily in remote locations, fueling it from a can.
I'll stick to gas and diesel engines, thank you very much.
Feel free to waste your money on an EV, but you are NOT 'saving the planet'. It doesn't need 'saving'. It's quite big enough to take care of itself.
And don't try to sell me on your religions. Don't try to mandate EVs or make me pay for your car through subsidies.
