Terrible news for the Creation Science museum (and Republicans)

According to the data, is it safe to call the Republican Party the Party of Ignorance...with Trump as the King of Stupidity? ;)

Note that the percentage of Republicans who believe the Earth is 6000 years old, just as the Bible says, is also approximately the same number refusing vaccines.

Biblical literalism seems to breed ignorance, in exactly the same way pig shit breeds maggots.

Genesis is supposed to be read metaphorically/symbolically. And that is according to one of the preeminent patristic church fathers:

"What intelligent person can imagine that there was a first "day", then a second and a third "day" – evening and morning – without the sun, the moon, and the stars … Who is foolish enough to believe that, like a human gardener, God planted a garden in Eden … I cannot imagine that anyone will doubt that these details point symbolically to spiritual meanings, by using an historical narrative which did not literally happen."

-- Saint Origen of Alexandria, 3rd century AD

Agreed. Most cultures have creation stories be it turtles, buffalo or anything else. Likewise, only the ignorant in those cultures believe the stories over scientific evidence.

Creationist museums should be forced to close unless they are licensed as amusement parks.

To me, the worst part is the utter disrespect rightwing Christians are showing to their proffesed faith by operating the creation science museum, the Ark Experience, and Jesus Land Theme Park.

To my knowlege, Muslims have not built a Muhammad Land Theme Park, and Buddhists have not opened a Siddhartha Guatama water slide park.

Disrespect as in commercializing and profiting off their "religion"? By turning belief into a business?

There's good reason that "Prosperity Christianity" is considered blasphemy by most church leaders. It's antithetical to the teachings of Jesus.

https://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/topics/p/prosperity-gospel/
An aberrant theology that teaches God rewards faith—and hefty tithing—with financial blessings, the prosperity gospel was closely associated with prominent 1980s televangelists Jimmy Swaggart and Jim and Tammy Bakker, and is part and parcel of many of today’s charismatic movements in the Global South. Orthodox Christians wary of prosperity doctrine found a friend in Senator Chuck Grassley, who in 2008 began a thorough vetting of the tax-exempt status of six prominent “health and wealth” leaders, including Kenneth Copeland, Bishop Eddie Long, and Paula White.

Anyone who pushes Creationism to explain the creation of Earth and Mankind. Who does that?....besides you, I mean. :)

Questioning *some* tenets of Darwinism and/or abiogenesis gets one labeled a ‘creationist’ and a Bible thumper lol.

Thanks for illustrating how it works. It took a minute, but we knew you for good for something.

Using God explain the physical world is pointless. Believe what you want but don't think a mysterious cause is rational.

No, it doesn't, Opie. Being a creationist gets you labeled a creationist.

Unsurprising you fear what you do not understand. Let's not forget you're the HCQ proponent, the self-named career "medical expert" who said masks don't work and the one who laughed at the danger of the COVID Pandemic with your hilarious "61" which embarrassed you so much you asked that it be closed. In short, a 5th Grader would kick your ass on a science quiz.

No backing out now lol.

You called me a creationist for doing nothing more than questioning *some* of the tenets of the Bible...oops, I mean evolution.

Hey, that sounds kind of familiar, don’t it. I think you just outed yourself as a species of fundie. Good work! Next time you label someone a fundie—just make sure you look in the mirror first.

You can try, but it appears you keep digging yourself in. Perhaps you should remember the first law of holes.
