Terrible news for the Creation Science museum (and Republicans)

I assume you are referring to the 2nd law of thermodynamics.

Yes...this is a valid argument against the Theory of Abiogenesis.
nope

The Second Law of thermodynamics only applies to closed systems. A living cell is not a closed system and it interacts with the environment constantly. The second law does not rule out the existence of a living organism

Not possible. Mars is too small, and therefore does not have sufficient atmosphere nor liquid water.

Planetary scientists believe early Mars had an atmosphere and liquid water billions of years ago, before losing it's atmosphere.

The fact that water erosion geomorophic features are observed on the surface of Mars corroborates this.

Look man, you wrote so many responses to me it filled up my notifications wall. That is actually a little creepy and I do not have the time or inclination to read your 30 responses to me, or whatever is is.

Be thankful the LV loon doesn’t respond to you lol.

I’m a Christian who thinks it doesn’t matter how Genesis is interpreted with respect to origins. So I’m a heretic to one camp and a Bible thumping creationist to the other.

IMO, all one can do is be true to one's conscience. I do not play on message board teams when it comes to religion.

My two cents: there are not that many authentic Christians on this message board. Being an authentic Christian, Buddhist, or Muslim takes remarkable commitment and effort.

I rarely see that kind of commitment demostrated on message boards from most self-identified Christians. I periodically attend church myself, but I refrain from calling myself a devout, practicing Christian.

Oldest Homo sapiens fossils ever found push humanity's birth back to 300,000 years

Digging on a hilltop in the Sahara Desert, scientists have found the most ancient known members of our own species, undermining longstanding ideas about the origins of humanity.

The newfound Homo sapiens fossils — three young adults, one adolescent and a child of 7 or 8 — date back roughly 300,000 years, says a study in this week’s Nature. The next-oldest fossils of Homo sapiens, the scientific name for humans, are about 200,000 years old.

The 200,000-year-old fossils were found in eastern Africa, sometimes called the “Garden of Eden” for its supposedly pivotal role as the birthplace of humanity. But the new fossils are from Morocco in far northern Africa, supporting the theory that the evolution of modern humans was a piecemeal affair that played out across the continent.

“There is no Garden of Eden in Africa,” said Jean-Jacques Hublin, co-author of two new studies describing the fossils and a paleontologist at Germany’s Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. “Or if there is a Garden of Eden, it’s … the size of Africa.”

The new finds confirm “modern humans do not suddenly appear like the Big Bang, with all the bells and whistles that we associate with modern humans,” agrees paleoanthropologist Bernard Wood of George Washington University, who was not associated with the study.

The only person concerned over this is your faggot ass.

A dog is not aware of itself? It never feels hungry? or cold? or hot? or bored?

Self-awareness is thinking "What will I have for dinner?" not "hungry. find food." A dog does not think about that asshole dog, Bob, down the street who is always shitting on his master's lawn. A dog does immediately react to the sight of Bob with anger.

A dog is pure zen. It lives each moment to moment but it's not self-aware. It simply lives the moment. If it's hungry it wants to eat. If cold it wants to be warm. It doesn't plan for winter or summer.

I agree, though I’m cautious about drawing conclusions about people on a debate board.

Agreed about being true to one's conscience. That goes hand-in-hand with trying to maximize one's knowledge on relevant topics concerning the nation. Religion in schools is one of those topics.

Faux science, pseudoscience, flying saucers and other bullshit being offered (e.g. Hydroxychloroquine) only muddy the waters and confuse the less intelligent members in the discussion.

One statement doesn't a good conclusion make but if a person pushes pseudoscience bullshit for months, do you think a conclusion can be drawn about that person by others on the forum?

We’ve been drowning in pseudoscience for over a year lol.

And I never heard a peep out of you.

I theorized that one reason the numbers for Republicans changed was due to the Republican party shrinking, leaving only the nutjobs behind, but I haven't been able to back up that theory with available evidence.

Example:

Republicans Independents Democrats

2021 May 3-18 29 35 33
2013 Dec 5-8 24 44 30
2009 Dec 11-13 29 36 33

I also think these days it is widely considered a mark of ignorance to deny evolution by natural selection.

25 years ago, a bible thumper could sort of get away with a strictly creation science posture.

These days, a creation scientist is laughed out of the room.

You can even see bible thumpers on this thead grudgingly accept the tenets of evolution, while still trying to inject providential design into it

lol.....this is your thread.......you're the captain of the losing team.....

Yes, there is a record of ancient single celled archaeon, cyanobacteria, and prokaryotes in Earth's fossil record. This is corroborated in some cases by isotopic data

It is shocking that anyone who wants to be taken seriously in a discussion of life's origins would be oblivious to that scientific fact.

Science isn't buzzwords. Science is a set of falsifiable theories.

The language of science is neccessary to communicate and research relevant scientific topics.

If you find yourself confused and befuddled by terms like cyanobacteria and prokaryotes, it's time for you to gracefully bow out of any serious discussion of abiogenesis and biological emergence.

Do these Bible thumpers have screen names?

According to the data, is it safe to call the Republican Party the Party of Ignorance...with Trump as the King of Stupidity? ;)

Note that the percentage of Republicans who believe the Earth is 6000 years old, just as the Bible says, is also approximately the same number refusing vaccines.
