Terrible news for the Creation Science museum (and Republicans)

a cop out.....abiogenesis is not a scientific reading......your best guess has no more merit than my religious beliefs.....
You edited out the rest of my post where I stated I do not categorically rule out the possibility divine providence played a role in biological emergence. Maybe it did.

I have consistently attempted to train my mind from shutting off any possibilities for emergence, in spite of your attempts to write responses to what you wish I wrote.
He does that. I don't know why.

Please correct me where I am wrong.

Yes, math is a tool, Captain Obvious.

The question is how/why do our brains conceptualize something that has no material existence; and yet, it comports with objective reality in a way that is useful? It’s almost as if our brains were designed to discover it and put it to use.

The militant atheists think I am a fundamentalist Christian bible thumper.

And the bible thumpers think I am a hell-bound unrepentant atheist.

Are free thinking agnostics like you and me really that freakishly rare?

I’m a Christian who thinks it doesn’t matter how Genesis is interpreted with respect to origins. So I’m a heretic to one camp and a Bible thumping creationist to the other.

Militant atheists? WTF

"Militant Atheist"
"A militant atheist is one who is hostile towards religion. They differ from moderate atheists because they have the desire to propagate atheism and also hold religion to be harmful. Militant atheism was an integral part of the French Revolution, Soviet Union, Cultural Revolution, and is expresses itself today in the ideas of the New Atheist authors."

I think he's confused about what you meant.

I was confused myself too because mathematics is required to design lugnuts.

Then you provided an example of an honeycomb.

Both lugnuts and honeycombs are hexagons. That's not a coincidence no more than the fact all the best wheels are round.

A person doesn't need to know math to realize the superiority of certain shapes over others. Math allows people to describe the shapes. As such it can become a universal language.

Intelligence and education are as rare as hens teeth on JPP. LOL

because I am not arguing with that......I am arguing with what I quoted because it is a false statement......

Bees make the strongest shape and don't know math.

What is the strongest geometric shape?

The hexagon is the strongest shape known. Not many people know this but if you
want something to hold a lot of weight pick a hexagon. Hexagonal patterns are
prevalent in nature due to their efficiency. In a hexagonal grid each line is as
short as it can possibly be if a large area is to be filled with the fewest number of
hexagons. This means that honeycombs require less wax to construct and gain
lots of strength under compression. It's also one of the only shapes which
tessellates perfectly (think tiles, if you tiled a wall with hexagons then there
wouldn't be any gaps.

In other words, math existed before they designed and constructed them.

Math is a ‘thing’ that is neither matter nor natural law. Yet it can describe them in an elegant sort of language.

Since nothing else can describe them it would have to be universal. Aliens would have the same math as us just with different symbols.
