Terrible news for the Creation Science museum (and Republicans)

why would a supra-natural being be subject to the laws of nature......that is illogical.....since God's existence never "came about" there is no reason to hold him to the same standard as something which DID "come about"........

The laws of nature didn't exist at the beginning of the universe, either - they didn't exist in the singularity.

So, as long as we have all of the parameters on that, we're cool. Per PMP, neither needs explanation.

mmmm read history asshole

your fucks liked to kill people for not believing

Pimp looooved the Spanish inquisition and the crusades...
He and Right would bring it all back today, if they could.
" Kill the infidels"...
sound familiar?
Religion is fucking poison to the brain...
Always has been always will be.

atheists are so predictable.......next they'll be complaining we shouldn't start threads like this and spread our hateful gospel........

The Old Testament is hateful by design (hence not needing a Devil). But Christianity is not a hateful gospel, except when Evangelicals turn it hateful and export it to other continents as anti-gay bigotry.

I'm actually open to the notion of an All-God, but it's clearly not the most simple or logical explanation. Scientists believe that while the laws of nature (as we know them) break down in a singularity, there must be greater laws governing existence beyond/below/above the universe. We cannot think in those dimensions. Could it be God? Sure, but I tend to think that beyond the universe there isn't a bearded guy hating on gay sex.

I generally avoid using the word "God," because it has so many connotations at this point. I believe that there was and is something there that could maybe be loosely described as a "higher intelligence," but because it exists outside of our universe and of the dimensions we're familiar with, it's not something we can know or likely comprehend.

One area where I agree w/ Grind - the sooner we can get rid of most organized religions, the better for mankind. Most of these texts were written by superstitious, fearful people who had little knowledge of science, if any. They're fantastic historical records, but they shouldn't be taken as any kind of doctrine.

Most music/ entertainment scripts are written by superstitious, fearful people who have little knowledge of science, if any. Shall we rid the planet of these too?

Let me know the next time they start a war or try to amend the constitution based on a movie script or song.

I think it's a hopeless analogy, and completely irrelevant.

Nothing really compares to religion's impact on the world.

I think it's a relevant analogy that makes your argument hopeless lol

The most destructive regimes of the 20th Century were atheist.

Ahhh... we call this moving the goal post. It's true that you can keep moving those goal posts until science breaks down, but that doesn't mean religions wins by default. Religion moves according to science, the reverse is NEVER true. We went from an Earth-centric universe to one that you are arguing with me about (dealing with quantum physics). Religion is not only a movable object, it is easily moved. Science will always be a better method of explaining natural phenomena, and God himself gets pushed back by the understanding of man.

Sorry, those are the breaks.

Who created the natural phenomena?

Infinity. God is the Alpha and Omega. He uses a different calendar than we do.

If you want to go that route, then I can prove that God is a linear being and therefore not infinite. The Bible clearly shows that God acts and reacts to new information. He judges sin. He created the world over a period of time. If God were infinite, there would be no creation process, no past or present, etc., to such a being. Instead we know for a fact that God grows, and in the form of Jesus, reforms his own laws.

It's the exact answer. The name of God in the Bible is 'I AM". We know him not because of logic, but by faith. And, that faith to believe is given to us by God.

Those who have not been born again of the Spirit of God and had their minds renewed, do not understand his Word. You have no understanding of the Bible.

He created the world "in the beginning". Our finite minds can not grasp infinity. If you truly want to understand anything about God, "you must come to him in faith, believing he is." It's God's business when the beginning was. Yet, by faith we know he was, he is and always will be. Hence his Biblical name of 'I AM'.

God said, "I change not."

That's cool for you. I don't want to disrespect it, but there really is no logic or thought process there.

The Bible was written by men.
