The laws of nature didn't exist at the beginning of the universe, either - they didn't exist in the singularity.

So, as long as we have all of the parameters on that, we're cool. Per PMP, neither needs explanation.

The Old Testament is hateful by design (hence not needing a Devil). But Christianity is not a hateful gospel, except when Evangelicals turn it hateful and export it to other continents as anti-gay bigotry.

I'm actually open to the notion of an All-God, but it's clearly not the most simple or logical explanation. Scientists believe that while the laws of nature (as we know them) break down in a singularity, there must be greater laws governing existence beyond/below/above the universe. We cannot think in those dimensions. Could it be God? Sure, but I tend to think that beyond the universe there isn't a bearded guy hating on gay sex.

I generally avoid using the word "God," because it has so many connotations at this point. I believe that there was and is something there that could maybe be loosely described as a "higher intelligence," but because it exists outside of our universe and of the dimensions we're familiar with, it's not something we can know or likely comprehend.

One area where I agree w/ Grind - the sooner we can get rid of most organized religions, the better for mankind. Most of these texts were written by superstitious, fearful people who had little knowledge of science, if any. They're fantastic historical records, but they shouldn't be taken as any kind of doctrine.

If you want to go that route, then I can prove that God is a linear being and therefore not infinite. The Bible clearly shows that God acts and reacts to new information. He judges sin. He created the world over a period of time. If God were infinite, there would be no creation process, no past or present, etc., to such a being. Instead we know for a fact that God grows, and in the form of Jesus, reforms his own laws.

Those who have not been born again of the Spirit of God and had their minds renewed, do not understand his Word. You have no understanding of the Bible.

He created the world "in the beginning". Our finite minds can not grasp infinity. If you truly want to understand anything about God, "you must come to him in faith, believing he is." It's God's business when the beginning was. Yet, by faith we know he was, he is and always will be. Hence his Biblical name of 'I AM'.

God said, "I change not."
