Take Anything You Hear About This War with a Mountain of Salt

The fog of war prevents the facts from coming out for a while. The slanted desires of the reporters also hide the truth. But it will come out to a great degree.

I'll just leave this here.

They might temporarily, but not in the long run. Even having some control would be expensive, messy, and make Russia more of a pariah than they are now. Insurgencies that are backed by the masses of people win. The Ukrainian people will be unlikely to bend a knee.

Sometimes the invader controls for a period of years: U. S. S. R. in Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Hungary, E. Germany. There was no real insurrection in most of those nations for many of those years.

Based on studies I have read if a nation is (1) fighting a long distance from home, uses (2) conventional warfare vs guerilla tactics, and the (3) outcome of the war is much more important to one side than the other, they usually lose.

Ukraine has an advantage on #3, I do not know enough about their methods #2

Do you know if ethnic Ukranians are waging insurrection in the Crimea?

I seen block's worth of leveled buildings. That's fucked up. People lived there. It took work to build those buildings.

Wtf is Putin's goal even? To be the king of a pile of rubble?

Putin: " I declare these people independent"

Also Putin: " Now GTFO, we're going to bomb the shit out of where you live."

What a dick!

Your butthurt is turning you into a Daniel Palos clone, isn't it?

That's unlikely. Give him 2 hundred dollar bills and find out!

If he goes to the Japanese spa, it is..

I wouldn't fault those women for a a nanosecond..although they did help create danielpalos.

The instant they touched his wiener.

..but that's how they're trained, dude. :dunno:

danielpalos is there right now, but he'll be back next week after he wasted all his government-given money.

He's going to end of king of a mountain of rubble with a lot of people cursing him.

So? I have a lot of people cursing me. I'm not deterred by it.

Buildings and roads, etc. can be rebuilt.

Compare pictures of Crimea - which Vlad devastated the last time a DEMOCRAT infested the Oral Orifice - with what it looks like now.

I double dirty-dog dare you.

12-story pre-stressed concrete structures are not that easily rebuilt. True story.

Neither are centuries-old buildings.

1 uncle came here in 1933, and married a blood relative a bit later. He was a farmer. I've heard things.

I know what a proper pierogie is with my cracker ass.

That uncle owned hundreds of acres in FL. That's way after my main relatives and further south.

He was a farming genius, tbh. He knew his stuff.

Definitely impressed my grandma. She wasn't easy to impress.

Fact check- Inaccurate report claims NATO countries giving warplanes to Ukraine

The Ukrainian armed forces and the country's parliament announced that 70 planes would be received: 16 MiG-29s and 14 Su-25s from Bulgaria, 28 Mig-29s from Poland, and 12 MiG-29s from Slovakia.

But all three countries have denied that they plan to send aircraft to Ukraine.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petrov said that, considering the small size of the country's air force, it could not and would not be giving planes to Ukraine, calling the idea "absurd."

Slovakia's EU diplomatic Twitter account announced: "Slovakia is neither sending the Fighter jets to Ukraine (sic)," quoting Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad' who denied the claims in an interview with Slovak media SME.

Polish President Andrzej Duda said during a press briefing at a NATO airfield in Poland the same day: "We are not going to send any jets to the Ukrainian airspace," alongside NATO's secretary general, Jens Stoltenberg. Polish government spokesperson Piotr Muller reiterated on national broadcaster Polsat News that there are no plans for his country to send military jets to Ukraine.

AFP Fact Check has debunked other inaccurate claims related to the Ukraine conflict.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine continues despite "resolutions, condemnations, unity, and sanctions".

As do the pundits calling for military action.

Guess how many of the "experts" you see hyping the war are paid shills for weapons manufactures.

THAT is a very valid point.

Today’s war is four-dimensional. It is a combination of military, economic, political, and propaganda pressure against the enemy.

An appeal to force alone is not regarded as enough, in the twentieth century, to win final and lasting victory.

War is fought on all four fronts at once—the military front, the economic front, the political front, and the propaganda front.

To understand how this four-dimensional warfare has come about, we have to look at history. We have to go back to the rise of nationalism in the eighteenth century.

Before the American and French revolutions took place at the end of the eighteenth century, many armies fought in the pay of monarchies, or of individual leaders.

They were mercenary armies. They did not fight for patriotic motives. They did not fight for causes. They fought because fighting was their business. No fight, no pay.

Something new came when the Americans formed a citizen army to win their independence and when the French threw off the yoke of the Bourbons.

The result of these changes is that propaganda has become in modern war not only a formidable weapon against the enemy but likewise a necessary tool.

Propaganda in wartime must seek to demoralize enemy morale. A primary objective of propaganda aimed at enemy nations is to break down their will to fight. It seeks to lower the enemy’s will to resist and it does this in several ways.

One is to picture "military successes" on the propagandist’s side.

Yet another is to picture the "moral superiority" of the cause against which the enemy is fighting.
