I think it all comes down to overall behavior. If a person behaves like a jackass, then they deserve what's coming to them.
I admit I’m not a constitutional lawyer. I can’t cite case law, but I do know the First Amendment applies to the government and not private employers.

If people shouldn't be fired for their opinions, then whether they’re a jackass would be irrelevant.

I've already pointed out school districts in the U.S. are independent and can refuse to take Federal money, so you got nothing there. Most are going to take the money, in which case they have no basis for sniveling. Those where the states regulate education are the same, if they take Fed money they're going to kiss Federal ass. They don't have to take Federal money either, but they will.

As a Adult to Adult in a known Satirical Conversation, No problem.

Between Avatars on a rough and tumble political forum, Expected.

As a Parent to Child, or Adult-Teacher to Child-Student, Huge Problem.

Teachers, Coaches, School Councilors, Priests, Cops, Mayors... all have sensitive, responsible and potentially destructive roles. There is much less freedom of speech available to people who choose to work in such positions.

Perhaps your problem is that you haven't read the entire Constitution.

No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
 
That should have said STATES and as I said I am sure the people of those STATES might want to know they don't have freedom of speech .

Slander and libel is a crime.
Perjury is a crime.
Fomenting a panic is a crime.
You can get fired for speaking out against the company or your boss.
You can get fired for divulging company secrets.
You can get kicked out a movie theater for making too much noise.
You can get kicked out of a casino for rowdy speech.
You can be kicked out of a classroom for being disruptive, including making a racist comment, trying to start a fight, etc.
You can be sent to jail for disrupting a courtroom with your speech.

A job is not free speech.

DON'T TRY TO HIDE BEHIND THE CONSTITUTION YOU DESPISE!
