Evolution is one of the most firmly established tenets in science, has been repeatedly tested by the scientific method, and has stood the test of time through multiple lines of evidence, including but not limited to the fossil record, DNA and genetics, anatomy, and even direct observation. Interesting questions remain, as they always do in science. But theory is so overwhelmingly supported by the preponderance of evidence, it has been elevated to one of the most basic scientific tenets there is, hands down.

You mean a theory that when contradicting information is claimed to be determined is considered wrong and new one comes out?

Yet none of you adhering to it have yet to provide the actual picture of MY great grandfather form thousands of generations ago you claimed I evolved from. Can you? I mean THE actual picture you can prove is MY family member.

Yet when you find something that contradicts the information you call facts you use to support the theory, you throw away those "facts" and tell us that it's something different. If it's wrong at a later time, it was wrong when you presented it as fact. And they cycle repeats itself.

Do you have the picture I need for the proof?

I think no such thing.

My point is that a First Cause that exists outside of the universe solves the problem of infinite regression.

You can't prove God doesn't exist, and you sure as hell can't explain, logically, how unorganized matter comes together and forms intelligent life. It's the stupidest idea ever conceived.

Yup...it's also the single most understood scientific theory. Because of the religious controversy surrounding it, it is poorly taught at the secondary level and since the vast majority of people don't study science beyond a secondary level, the most common understanding of biological evolution is that man descended from apes.

Yet ultimately a scientific theories explanatory powers are what counts and evolutionary theories are striking. Why do all organisms use an almost identical genetic code? Evolution. Why does a whale have a pelvis? Evolution. Then look at competing ideas, such as, Intelligent Design and Creationism. They have no explanatory powers, they have no usefulness and they are not falsifiable.

Yet on a humbler plane Darwin was right about the simplicity, elegance and beauty of evolution by natural selection explaining the riddle of the mutability of species. “Thus, from the war of nature, from famine and death, the most exalted object which we are capable of conceiving, namely, the production of the higher animals, directly follows. There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.”

All scientific knowledge is tentative. If new evidence contradicts existing scientific beliefs of a theory than that theory must either be modified or supplanted with one that incorporates that new evidence.
