Russia’s ‘Dirty Bomb’ Scare

evince is a she then? In any way, she/he has said enough that they've become the first person that I've put on my thread ban list, there's a limit to how many insults I want to hear from a person.

Yes. There are several women on JPP plus a few angry, elderly eunuchs. Most of the later are Trumper losers who want to burn down the nation. They're pretty easy to spot. :)

As someone else posted here, Russia has real nukes. They have no need to use dirty bombs. As to whether they'll actually use one of them, I'm hopeful that they never feel the need to. The problem is NATO's continuing to supply Ukraine with weapons, making this in essence a war between NATO and Russia, even if NATO isn't putting its troops on the front lines.

Good. We should be stepping in, even if it's merely supplying ordnance, when a giant bully invades a small sovereign nation. That being said, I sure as hell do not want to see our military with boots on the ground there.

The US routinely supplies trainers and technical advisors to all of our allies.

They don't engage in fighting, but are often at risk from bombings, missiles, etc.

All, AFAIK, are volunteers.

The most likely scenario is Russia would use tactical nukes in Ukraine followed by a dirty bomb going off in Mother Russia.

There'd be no clear winners.

Seriously doubt the Ukrainians are that stupid ... given they've got enough nuke plants to make the damned things and would have done long before now if so inclined.

like I said, just a lot of noise from Putin & America

You think the Ukrainians would just suck it up if Putin nuked them?

A dirty bomb is not that complicated.

Dutch, stop picking fights were there are not any.

No one said a dirty bomb is complicated. That's not my point.

My statement merely points to the obvious that the Ukranians would not be the ones to instigate a "dirty bomb" use against Russia.

I've stated previously that Putin is just rattling a saber and blowing smoke, given that if you're pissing your pants about blowing up a nuke plant and starting another Chernobyl, why use a "dirty bomb" to not only do a mini-version of such AND bring NATO officially into the fray? Not smart...and Putin is not stupid.

BUT

Given that all involved have a propensity to lie, anyone setting off even a small dirty bomb could use it as a propaganda tool. Yeah, that's FUBB, but it's not fully out of the realm of possibility.

Which is what I pointed out. It'd be a retaliatory weapon from a nation that doesn't have nukes.

When Vladimir Putin was sworn in for another six years as Russian president 4 years ago. Standing in the ornately-decorated Andreyevsky Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace, he compared Russia to a Phoenix rising from ashes.

I don't know if this is a coincidence or a Nationalistic symbolic sign or dog whistle, but I thought I would throw that out there- because I feel it is worthy of mention!

Hence THE REST of my response:

Would be nice to know Russia's intel sources. Anyway, so far, I've heard of no dirty bomb going off, so perhaps the Ukrainians have decided not to go through with it, or Russia's intel was off.

It was a Russian lie

You love Russia huh

I don't believe that this conflict was truly started by Russia. I made another thread that gets more into my views of who started the conflict. It's here, if you're interested:

I'm glad we agree that the U.S. military shouldn't have boots on the ground there.

I've had this username for a lot longer than that. I have an account with this same username in another forum that I started over 10 years ago. I was inspired to use this username due mostly to the X-men's Phoenix character. I know she's female, but my name has a y in it, so I thought that'd differentiate it enough. Little did I know that Phoenyx with a y is still considered a female name -.- As I told Dutch Uncle, though, I'm ok with being an exception to the rule. It's not like Phoenyx with a y is a very common name anyway.

Nice lie.

What country were you born and raised, comrade Phoenyx?

That right there is slander.

Well, never mind then. Life is far too precious to waste with conspiracy theories and theorists. Russia invaded Ukraine. End of scenario.

Russia certainly put boots on the ground in Ukraine, but I don't call it an invasion because of what invasions typically mean- that is, to conquer a place, generally for resources. Putin gave 2 reasons for his military operation in Ukraine- Russia's national security and protecting the citizens of the Donbass region. Now, if he'd just made a flowery speech on the day he started his military opeartion, that'd be one thing. The fact of the matter, however, is that Russia had been warning the west for years that they were crossing the line of what Russia was willing to tolerate.

The U.S. had no qualms about putting up a blockade around Cuba during the Cuban missile crisis and had some secret negotiations not taken place between the JFK administration and Russia, it's quite possible a nuclear war might have started. The U.S. had certainly drawn up plans of occupying Cuba. Now the U.S. is playing in Russia's backyard and for some reason they're indignant when Russia reminds the U.S. of what happened when Russia was doing the same not so long ago.
