Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-D) - Never use the words 'socialist' or 'socialism'

Who will win the Democratic civil war?

Agreed about Bernie, but I also saw Beto last year screaming about confiscation and he wasn't alone in that idea. All major Democrats favor gun banning. While that may be very European, it's not very American.

When I picture the Republican party these days I see the Titanic with a Republican captain going down by the bow and screwing everyone who wasn't in a First Class cabin. To paraphrase the late, great President Ronald Reagan, I didn't leave the Republican Party. The Republican Party left me. The current Republican Party bears a near zero resemblance to the GOP in the 1970s. They've evolved into the hideous beast still publicly sucking Trump's cock ten days after the election won by Biden.

You really need to stop conflating assault weapons with the rest of guns. Not one place in the first world has gone that route. Taking assault weapons off shelves again is in no way taking away guns or the ability to have them. We had the policy in place before that those things couldn't be sold to the public just like most adversely dangerous things. Same reason you don't see people able to buy dangerous exotic pets, or lab chemicals.

which is an unconstitutional act according to the 2nd Amendment

The problem is that those aren't accurate catchphrases. Very handy for the opposition, though. Given the diversity in the Dem. party, they're going to have to find a way to balance getting the youth vote via the AOC demographic, without the idiotic rhetoric that comes from her mouth.

Luckily, when trump fades like the stench of a fart in a gymnasium, Republicans will be easier to deal with.

In my view, unless the 'Left' can figure out how to bring the 'American Dream' back to the Working Class, we're going to face another demagogue like Trump in the Future.
(70 million people ... they all can't be 'White Supremacists', 'Jesus Freaks', and 'Billionaires')

These are policies that Democrats in Congress promoted and wanted, Jacky.

You can't deny that.

It's simple to deny since it's false. No "policy" reflective of defunding police departments was "promoted" by Democrats in Congress.

Exactly. And don’t not mistake my criticism of the words with criticism of the policy behind those words. I believe for example in single payer. But when packaged correctly it very popular. Call it socialism and it’s dead.

The COVID-19 crisis has given us a historic opportunity to do many things that we could not do before.

We need not sugar-coat our aims any longer.

The historic landslide victory we have gained has swept aside all hesitation.

Our mandate is clear and our goals are irresistible.

We have nothing to fear in any future elections now that we are free to reform the ways that votes are cast.

We will make voting easier and more accessible by supporting automatic voter registration, same-day voter registration, early voting, and universal vote-from-home and vote-by-mail options.

We will make it a priority to pass legislation that restores and strengthens the Voting Rights Act, and ensure the Department of Justice challenges state laws that make it harder to vote.

We will work to ensure that returning citizens have their voting rights restored upon release from jail or prison without the additional hurdle of having to pay fines and fees.

We recognize that the United States Postal Service is a critical component to our democracy and must be supported to guarantee timely and efficient delivery and return of vote by mail ballots.

Except you don’t have the senate. Your victory is pyrrhic. That’s the price for ‘not sugarcoating it’ It is what it is.

Dude, there's no such thing as an "assault weapon". Worse, it's a bald faced lie to call an "assault weapon" a "weapon of war".

Equally bad is the Democrat penchant for authoritarianism and a one-size-fits-all mentality that they can cure their inner city drug and gang problem by banning SKSs and AK-47s from rural hog hunters like myself.

No frets. I'm a civilist from here on.

LOL. I'm content to let the Americans on this forum decide for themselves. The Russians and Chinese can eat shit and die.
the brainwashed mob of lefties and righties?????? they couldn't even nominate decent candidates, let alone vote for a decent candidate..............ROFL
Those idiots, like yourself, are a minority of screamers, rock throwers and murderers. Most Americans are much more civilized and less concerned about forcing their will upon others as you and other political extremists seek to do.

The only difference between you and the far Left is polarity. It doesn't matter if Americans grab the positive lead of a 220v system with their left hand or their right hand, if they are grounded, they will hurt themselves. Best not to be so extreme and use caution when working with high voltage electricity or changing the rights of Americans.

Americans typically like socialist policies, such as Social Security and Medicare, and they typically dislike the word, "Socialist". Democrats simply need to keep that in mind.

Kamala Harris didn't become vice-president-elect by being coy.

Socialism does not exist. The label is used to scare rightys. It works very well. Not allowing the wealthy to confiscate the profits and not pay taxes is, not socialism. Helping the people who need it is not socialism. We have the worst wealth gap in the world, worse than it was in the gilded age. Let's do right by the people. We just keep giving money to the wealthy.

All Trump people are liars. And they are ignorant of political science.
