Religious affiliation of American scientists

No, that's wrong. 48 percent identify with a specific religious denomination, and at least a few percent in that "nothing in particular" category probably feel there is some kind of higher power, even if they don't affiliate with a specific denomination

You have to be good at arithmetic, and have the mind and intuition to be able to see lots of information in the data.

48 percent identify with a specific religious denomination.

A few percent probably believe in a higher power, without identifying with a specific religious denomination.

Atheists are about twice as high in science as in the general population. Probably because the belief in physical materialism is an article of faith prevalent in science.

Jews are overepresented in science compared to the general population, presumably because of the Jewish tradition and emphasis on education.

The fact that at least half of scientists believe in some type of God or higher power means that science isn't atheistic by nature, and that some people believe science actually enhances their religious belief.

^^ That's just for a start.
but then they also believe in eugenics and push poison shots.

that's a religion alright.

Satanism.

I don't care about anecdotal wonder stories on the innernetz. or about some Jr. college out in the boonies. Quotas are against the Civil Rights Act law, too, yet they are all over the place, even in government job applications. and for decades; it has only recently come under scrutiny. It is especially rampant in science depts, like Biology.

I'd like to see modern evidence that a qualified Hindu, Protestant, or Jew with a physics PhD is actively discriminated from getting tenure track positions.

I fully believe there are evangelicals and Catholics in university physics departments who hear snickers behind their backs coming from some atheist colleagues. But snickering isn't against the law.

You need help using search engines, do you? I specifically said Christians, not Hindus or anybody else, though at Woke schools hiring more Jews would certainly frowned on.

cry some more you fucking baby. edwina the tantrum in waiting

:ROFLMAO:

So you think that Cypress was in the clear even though it was a clear violation of the forum rules? Remember: Cypress thinks morality is objective and presumably he understands that breaking the rules is wrong.

And dishonestly characterizing someone else's position is very bad form.

You made the claim, not me.
So you cannot provide credible and verifiable evidence that qualified Hindus, Protestants, Jews with PhDs in physics are routinely being discriminated out of applying for post-docs or tenure track positions at physics departments in American universities.

Doesn't that depend upon the University? Would they even be hired at Liberty University, for example?

As discussed elsewhere, I'm a firm believer that we can't get rid of racism with institutionalized bigotry; a system that evaluates people by their skin tone, religion, sex, gender, etc. A purely merit-based system is not a fantasy, but, as a society, we don't always seem to be moving in that direction.

FWIW, I consider maximizing the potential of all Americans with education and training to be a national security issue. American citizens are our greatest resource. Fucking over Americans to increase profits is putting money before country.

Good point, I don't know if a Hindu or a Muslim would get hired at Liberty!, lol

Agreed on education.

Bigotry exists, but it's also bad for both business and national security since it doesn't maximize asset usage.

In my industry, the use of knowledge and personality tests was a common entry towards being offered a job interview. Someone who came across as a bigot wouldn't get very far in the process. Most tend to be low brow, poorly educated with criminal behaviors.

Example:
A study in Psychological Science shows that those with lower cognitive abilities feel more prejudice towards people of different races, genders, sexualities, and spiritual beliefs.

In other words, hateful people are typically simple people — but why?

Those with less intelligence are more likely to rely on dichotomous thinking: a black-and-white view of the world that labels things as either “good” or “bad.” As a result, they may have trouble grappling with more complex concepts, such as privilege, intersectionality, and systemic biases.

What’s more, listening to hate speech deteriorates neurocognitive mechanisms involved in empathy, which perpetuates the cycle. Less intelligent people are drawn to hateful propaganda, and hateful propaganda makes them even less intelligent.

derp derp
your cry baby routine is truly pathetic

waaah. waaah. <cuss word>. waaah waaah

lol 'derp derp', the favorite idiot phrase with gimps and tards.

I posted info for the lurkers and those genuinely interested in the subject. I could care less whether you commies and degenerates like it or not. None of you are here to discuss and debate facts, you're just peddling propaganda and nonsense.
