Ravens take a knee in London, but stand for God save the Queen.

If you knew history better, this would be easier.

Question .. how did raising a fist in 1968 help the cause they were fighting for?

I can give you the historical perspective if you need it.

It became a symbol that endues to this day .. just as taking a knee will endure.

America has never been the country it pretends to be, and global exposure of that truth is a powerful force for change.

then why don't your black ass move, instead of pretending you belong here

Many of us never stand for God Save the Queen here because it is not our anthem and, as with the one you go in for, belongs to an unpleasant regime. In England, however, we stand for the English anthem: it is simply good manners to do so in foreign countries.

How is bending the knee going to solve 'the racist foundations' of the country?

The inner city black communities have lots of problems with gangs drugs and violence. I don't see how digging up historical skeletons is productive in the least.

Maybe you can explain how it works.
You misunderstand. The white supremacists like to offer the strawman about disrespecting the flag, the military, and a laundry list of other bullshit. This isn't about history. This is about a real and present problem that we still see almost every day in this country.

So I guess you can say that the history of racism in this country is still on the front burner in pockets across the nation.

oh please. take it to the streets, take it to FB take it where you want to, but do NOT turn your back on your country -your flag.
Believe it or not patriots have died for that flag. I mean the flag itself as well as the country.

You are literally turned around with your logic this disrespect is "pro-American"
Those who support racist, murdering cops are the ones 'turning their backs on the country'.

I'm talking about the players, and many do. Kap is late to that game however.
Ray Rice was helping inner city kids before his misadventure- he never turned his back on the flag
Late to the game? You really haven't been paying attention.

It shows a lack of ability to conceptualize.
we fought a civil war over that already, we had civil rights struggles..now it's rogue cops -OK so ADDRESS THAT without disrespect for the flag. You disrespect the very foundations that allow for protest/mitigations
No. You don't get to choose which issues are worth addressing. You're probably too young to remember the Vietnam war protests.

You kneel to the English monarch in submission every day, as your craven conquered forebears have for centuries.

America, on the other hand, threw off the English yoke.

You aren't English, and never will be. You're a serf.

Did liberals always endorse a football player's right to kneel?

Well, she is your queen, whether you like it or not.

The NFL rules on the National Anthem can be found on pages A62-63 of the NFLs game operations manual:

The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.

Black NFL players that are kneeling or sitting are exposing the thug in them,
you can take the thug out of the hood but you can't take the hood out of the thug.

ANd I mean that in the most insulting way, don't misunderstand me.

They're not only showing their stupidity by conflating two entirely different causes, but bowing to the inner thug in them that
resorts to whining and crying racism when nothing else works

Why aren't you bitching about the white players, bigot?

The raised fist was/is also associated with the ultra left black nationalist Black Panther party.

Raced based nationalism is a no-no, right? I wouldn't suggest getting that started if you don't want NFL ratings to tank even further.

168 was a part of a real struggle for civil rights.
As much as I dislike the Panthers , one has to give it up for their cause of advancing the black man to equality.

Compare that to a few rogue cops - who generally get trial. Mountains to molehills

1968 might as well been on another planet, things have changed so much.

People make up stuff to protest over now.

rogue cops killing blacks..it happens. But it's not an everyday thing.
Besides I haven't heard any SOLUTIONS from the interrupters..how about replacing a grand jury with a citizens review board PROIR to a grand jury?
Some cities/locals have that and it works much better

That's what really offends the liberals, isn't it? They yearn to get the flag and any display of respect for American symbolism removed from public life by any means necessary. They whined for years about getting Christian prayer out of schools and stadiums. Now there is Muslim religious indoctrination of children in the classroom.
